I've sent emails to both Tony and Jody. The style of the switch doesn't make any difference to me. I want to buy 1 chip and be done with it. I do like that fact that the F6 and soon the F5 will have download capability. I also like the fact that Tony doesn't charge for reburns. Until I can talk to these guys, it's 6 one way and a half dozen the other.
I absolutely love the chip I have, but then again so do most of you. The only thing for sure is it's a hell of a lot better the the Super Chips I had. As far as JD's post, I'm not sure which on can pee the furthest, but I do know who's helping sponsor this site.
This is an uneducated comment, but is it possible that all the wonderfull people (well at least a couple) have actually perfected the tuning for these trucks. Therefore the"which chip is best" question is no longer viable. They have spent many years developing these programs and maybe the summit has been reached. I mean, can you really trade your brand A custom tune for a brand B custom tune and say, "Man what a difference!!" Or can you just say" I like this **** better than this switch" Just a thought.
Well I didn't intend to say anyone was better then any of them, I know we all use Jody and Tony here, I what everyone thought of the others. I like Jody's and like I said I highly doubt I will change due to the fact he isn't to far away and I like him and Diane. Though the others I really hadn't heard about them until recently and I was wondering you could call them A list or B list if they took care of the trucks and went conservitive like Jody or focused on getting all the power they could out of them. Might sound dumb or this might be a dumb thread but it was just on my mind
Not dumb and it is an interesting thought, but unless some of us have been fortunate enough to try all the tunes from all the vendors with all the extras then it is probably going to be mine is best and you should get this one. I went with DP-Tuner because it was so well thought of here and it seemed to be tried and proven by you guys. If I had found another site (yes they do exist) that the regulars there liked something else, then I would probably went that way.
Now, if you want to start another thread about what kind of battery or tires, that I can comment on.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Justin.
Well guys, I am getting live tuning on the 5th. I sent my chip for the reburn because I installed injectors, and turbo. I will see what happens with the live tuning. I think I will be happy with Jody doing my chip. I have been happy so far. .
Hey guy I usually spend most of my time in the 48-56 forum but could not help but comment on this one. I love the way my truck runs with Jody's tunes I have stock,60t,80E,120r
I agree with the comment about lots of good tuners. All comes down to personal preference and experience with the tuner.
I've tried and driven quite a few of the ones on the list....others that I haven't tried.
Not that a lot of people run it, but there is also Cale at BTS who does tuning and isn't on the list.
In my truck, I like the TS Performance tuning with my BTS transmission. Very nice shifting and the power and responsiveness that I wanted.
I wish this thread would grow some wings. I found it on a search and the basic idea of the first post is EXACTLY what I wanted to know in order to choose a tuner for my truck.
So here's my question....
People talk so much about Jody (DP Tuner) and Tony Wildman. But what is the connection between DP Tuner and Power Hungry Performance? Did PHP own DP Tuner at some point, and do they have the same off-the-shelf tunes for mileage and moderate towing?
I really like that PHP can integrate their tunes into the Edge Evolution packaging (what PHP calls the Gryphon). If by some chance that PHP tunes are just as good or even the same as DP Tuner, then I want the PHP Gryphon.
This might be a little off topic, and it might belong somewhere else but I saw the title and figured why not give it a shot, but I have the Superchip and did have the controller until my truck was broken into a while ago.
I was wondering if the superchip will work with any other controllers because right now I have my truck stuck on the highest setting and I need to get it reflashed back to the factory setting. I was particularly looking at the Quadzilla Commander to mount on the pillar to install. Let me know what you think.

PHP did not own DP-Tuner.
Bill from PHP used to program "Diesel Power" chips years back (not sure on the exact name of his company). This was back before there were a lot of the tuners that there are today. Lots of people really liked Bill's tuning. I remember being at a dyno day where we ran TS, Bill's Diesel Power, and I think DI back to back to back in the same truck as they were pretty much the most popular options at the time.
Bill decided to go to Edge and work for them.
At some point Bill left Edge, and at some point after that, PHP was formed.
Jody started DP-Tuner after Diesel Power chips was no longer.......AFAIK.
I think PHP and DP are both vendors here so obviously they can give a better history.
