I wonder if quitting all that at once will make you feel worse for a while, at least until your body gets used to it. Be sure and let us know what the doctor says today. I will be thinking of you!

I've gotten rid of headaches by doing that. Cris.

Yeah the water tastes and smell like sulphur in a lot of areas down there.

I have tried drinking more water to help my head but it didn't help.... At this point I am just waiting on my test results and will go from there.

When we went to Alaska last year we took a helicopter tour of a glacier. At the end of it they landed on it and we got out and walked around for a couple mins. There was a little stream running through the glacier so I laid down on the ice and drank from it. Let me tell you how cold it is to lay down on it and stick your face in the stream but that was the best water I have ever had, if I could find something like that in a bottle I would pay just anything for it

To the dozer question: Yes the filters are full of fuel when it dies.

To Cris: Where in Alaska were you when you did that? My family went on a cruise to Alaska in 06 and that was probably the best vacation I've ever been on. We went on the glaciers as well. When we got there some couple was having their wedding pictures taken on top of the glacier.

I used to smoke, 30 years ago and quit cold turkey several times.

Up until July 15th when I quit the beer the only caffeine in my life was my 2 or 3 cups a day, which is what I am doing right now. So for a few months I did get heavy with the caffeine but am now just back to normal. Now rereading your post I see you said you quit 30 years ago??????????? Hell 30 years ago you were only 20, so unless you started smoking as soon as you were born, how addicted to cigarettes could you have possibly been?

We spent 8 days in Alaska in June/July 07. The first 2 were spent in Juneau, next 2 were spent in Ketchikan, spent 4 days here Alaska Fishing Lodge, Alaska Fishing Vacation, Alaska Salmon Fishing fishing (best time of my life) and the last night we were back in Ketchikan. We took the glacier tour in Juneau, and went to Medenhall. Mendenhall Glacier - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. I have pictures of me laying on the galcier and drinking from the stream on my desktop, I will try to get them loaded up on the laptop so I can post them.

I would love to go back to Alaska one day, that is god's country up there!

Mark, I never felt better after I quit.. there was no noticable improvement.. But.. I never noticed I was getting less healthy from smoking.. What I am trying to say is.. I believe it is a slow process, so I was unable to notice the difference..
What I did notice though, it took me less time to get rid of a chest cold normally then it did for someone who was smoking..

I was there in August of 06. Our cruise stopped at Juneau where we went on the Mendenhall and in Ketchikan we went salmon fishing. It's pretty incredible what you can see up there.

I bet a cruise up there would be really nice!!! I could actually do without going to Juneau and Ketchikan again, just take me to Waterfall for a week and I would be happy. The only phones, tv's or internet access was up in the bar so you could still keep in contact with the outside world if you needed to. The fishing was phenomenal and that is all that matters! The 8 of us came back with almost 1k lbs of fish, I still have fish in my deep freezer.....
