Merry Christmas all its good to see the OT back in the 7.3L Forum
Well I had a pretty good day I traveled up to North east TN (carter County) to see my grand parents on my moms side today. I meet Huck (hucka1a) today a few minutes from my grandparents and gave him a taste of Jody's magic I think we'll see another one join the ranks in a few days. Great guy thats all I have to say and wonderful wife.
I just got an Xbox 360 for Christmas, but I have been playing a little on the PS2. I have been playing Call of Duty 4 online on my PC for a while any one else play on the PC here?
I just cant get over the size of hard drives now a days!
When I built my desktop, oh about 3 years ago now, I bought a SWEET 160 gig hard drive!
I dont think they even sell them that small anymore!
lolololol.... That's when I built this one, and it's got a 160GB drive.
My FIRST PC was a 386DX 25MHz, 40MB HD, 2MB RAM. 14" 1024x768 SVGA CRT monitor, and I added a 16 bit SoundBlaster card. That cost me just under $2000 back in 1991.
Then I built a 486 of two different flavors (50 MHz SX first with added math co-processor, then a 486 DX66), then a couple Pentiums after that (120 and a 200). Then I switched to an AMD K6-2 400 back in '99. That damn PC is STILL running today!!!! I've had AMDs ever since, and I won't go back. They are amazing processors!
Thats good Chris, too many rules wrecks the fun of things
Joe, sounds like youve built alot of computers! ive just done a couple, and so far I have been an intel man over amd. Not realy sure why anymore, but when i built this one p3 I did a ton of research between the amd and intel that were available at the time, and the intel was better then, but shortly after then amd became the top dog for the p3 scene!
Sheldon...my first upgrade to my fathers desktop was a 4 gb hard drive that cost $300 new...that was in 1995
I upgraded the ram from 8mb to 256mb...another $300!!
I dunno, man. If you have a case & power supply already, you can build a system like I'm getting for the same $350. That's a 2.5GHz Phenom 9850, Asus MoBo, 4GB of RAM (I was mistaken earlier -- thought that was 2GB!), and a 500 GB SATA II drive. I actually added a couple extra goodies for me too, so I'm up to $415 to my door. Upgrading my crappy 128 MB AGP video card to a 512 MB card. Extra $60.

I built my first AMD in '95 think a 586 200 and that's all I've had since except a P4 1.8 that was slower than my AMD 500
I won't have anthing but AMD anymore

Same here on the AMD. If you are a gamer, they are the processor to get.
My laptop has a dual core processor and it smoked the desktop in performance before the desktop overheated and died.
