Tps?
Been a while since ive been on here, one crazy year.
Got a question after say runnign 65mph for a while pulling up to a off ramp so letting off the throttle all the way the check engine comes on and OD light flashes. Throwing a CPS coded and also throwing a TPS code. Didnt write them down. Makes truck shift very hard due to the OD light. The CPS is new had ford put in one under the recall they did about a year ago, so shouldnt be that, normally the motor will die if its the CPS, so does it sound like the TPS could be going out on me?

The codes will really help with the diagnosis. Try to duplicate it again and post the codes here.
Don't rule out a CPS heading south. I can and does do some very strange things. ANd no, the Engine will not necessarily die if its going bad. It's relatively cheap to try. The dealer is selling them for less than $30. You should have an extra one in the glove box anyway....
Not sure a TPS would cause your problem. It's nothing more than a potentiometer. Nest time this happens trounce on the pedal a few times. If it goes away you may have found your trouble. A little electrical cleaner is all that's need in most cases.
Be sure you engine oil is clean and full. Old oil can aerate easier than fresh oil. Aeration will cause your symptoms.
Also, check the tin nut on the IPR. It can cause all sorts of erratic problems too.
I'm sure I missed something...others will be along to help.
