I posted a few weeks ago about a stalling problem I was having. Well, it's getting worse, and with time, more, I guess deliberate would be the word.
For quite a while, maybe years, I periodically have an issue while truckin along at 65 or so where if I lightly step on the accelerator it would either do nothing, or accelerate very slowly. This still happens on occasion. The bigger problem now is moreso when it's not warmed up yet, it's stalling or bucking when I step on the gas any more than just a little. If I take off like a 90 year old man, it will slowly accelerate. If I step on it a little harder, it stalls until I let off, then it's fine. If I stay on the throttle, or mash on it, it bucks like a bronco. The codes say 0344 cps (only a few months old) 1211, ICP Low/high, and 1248 turbo boost, which I can see all happening because of whats going on when it bucks. Usually, but not always it stops after a few minutes. Occasionally it will do it while rolling down the highway. Could it be the TPS? or better yet, IS it the TPS?? If so, where's the best place to find one without getting ripped by the dealer?? Thanks guys
The no accelerate at all when you hit the pedal would point to TPS, when mine started failing, it was like the gas pedal wasn't connected at all.
The stalling i would not think is related. Might try unhooking your ICP sensor, see if it has oil in it, and if so, leave it unplugged for a day and see if the stalling goes away. if it does, there is your issue. (Note: you can run with the ICP sensor unhooked safely, the PCM will use default codes.)
A few months ago, I did injector o rings and cups. I broke the ICP sensor and drove over a month without it. I just replaced it a couple of months ago. Could it be bad?
Just a quick update. Before I blew the $180 on a new pedal, I figured, what can it hurt to try swapping the CPS? Well, even though the one that was in there was only 3 or 4 months old, I replaced it with my old one and it seems like my problem is solved. I've replaces the CPS 3 or 4 times now, and it never acted like this before. No wonder they are so cheap nowadays.
