New CPS BAD?

I recently had some idle issues (2002 7.3 powerstroke) replaced my ICP sensor, corrected most of problem however it appeared to miss ocassionally, I replaced my CPS sensor (original = gray) new = black, now truck misses more frequently ses light on throwing code for CPS Does anyone have any experience with this could the new CPS HAVE BEEN BAD OUT OF BOX? I have read so many things about gray vs black vs blue etc. i got the black cps at advance auto was this a bad idea any suggestion would be appreciated......thanks

I'd get another CPS - buy either a Navistar one or one from Ford. None of the "parts house" CPS's have proven to be all that reliable many are DOA or Die shortly after installation.

Its probably just a bad new one. The aftermarket ones have a VERY bad reputation. Go to Ford and get the grey one. Truthfully, its not that bad. I have seen more people have problems with aftermarket ones than the Ford ones.
