evening guys, looks like i missed out on quite a bit in my absence lol. the question is, did i miss anything important lol? i've been stuck in the shop working believe it or not lol. finally got that skid loader done that i've been fighting for 2 days. put the stinking injection pump on and got it running, but it smoked while like a son of a gun so i screwed w/ the timing a while, but then, the pump quit injecting! i tried priming the system and the lift pump wasn't sending any fuel either...i thought the lift pump went to hell then i had a "duh" moment and check the fuel level...can't inject fuel when there isn't any in the tank!! sometimes i would like to just kick my own ***!
but anywho, spent all of yesterday splitting a tw-25 ford tractor in half for a clutch job among other things. the farmer was using it then all at once it quit moving and lost all hydraulic functions. i thought the internal hydro pump was shot which meant a double split of the tractor, but then when i got it tore in half last nite, i found that the splines on the pto shaft for live power were stripped out. this is the shaft that drives the hydro pumps. plus the pilot bearing on the clutch went to hell so ball bearings took out the pressure plate and the clutch disk...is wasn't pretty.
got a few other things to plan and get done on the sucker, but i'm getting the feeling it's going to be a terribly long and painful process...o well, if it pays, i'm there.
but other than that, it's just been cold and windy, like everywhere else i'm sure lol...anyone still on tonight, or maybe snowed in yet?
i thought about doing that once upon a time, but i think i'll work for a dealer a couple years before i do anything like that to get some more experience. dad's shop is nice, but rather small...i'd go big or go home lol
