It was Fun, This June we will have to spend more time together Maybe find a Burrito place somewhere, Eh Bill?
That's just what I need...more gas!
Don stayed here during the Nats, may come back next year.
If Don shows up, I have room for at least three more.
Besides the Nats, we went to the 40's Limited Car Show held on Sunday (pics in the SoCal Chapter forum), a coupla obsolete Ford stores, several repro parts places.
And a long time dismantlers wrecking yard that has tons of 1961/79 stuff, some of it is NOS.
Im there Bill...after the blast I had this past summer...and the other show the following day...holy geez...anyone with an appreciation of old iron Ford or not would be nuts to miss it...but the 2nd meet was nearly all FoMoCo rides though...took TONS of pics...
As for the cable...I just sent a note to the seller asking length...Bill W the ND is 10000000000% correct...that cable only had the ONE p/n...ALWAYS a C5TZ number...65 was its year of first use and a 2 year only part with no mods to either of the parts it snaps to or retains it...I will let you know what the seller replys with....The other thing I looked at and noticed is it appears the gas pedal attachment isnt the same snap end as original...
I thought something looked fishy about that cable but wasn't sure. I have had a few struggles with E-bay sellers not knowing what they are selling lately. They usually make it right but after much stress and then they give the excuse that they move soooo many parts that they can not be expected to be right all the time. It is pretty cool that we also have E-bay police here as well!
And by the way, my name's not Bill W. or even Bill! HaHa!
I have a cable that I removed from a 66 F-250 with a 352. I would like to sell or trade for good cable for truck with 300 6cyl. Cable is in good shape what would it be worth. Not trying to sell here. Will post in classified. Just want to know fair value.
Thank You!
Last v8 throttle cable i wacthed sell on evelbay sold for almost 60 bucks! But i think that is a bit too much for somthing that is used, You can buy a New lokar universal cable for 35bucks + shipping,
Thats funny cs65, I sent the seller a note asking him to specify the lenght of the cable too. I hope to see you at the western nats also Don, I am sure Garbz will be there also.
last june Dave and i went to the saturday car show in huntington beach WAY!!! COOL!!!
got to meet John Gilbert and tour Argus McMillin Publishing, the same Co that does all the cool Car and Truck Mag's. Thanks Dave!
Thats funny cs65, I sent the seller a note asking him to specify the lenght of the cable too.
I did the same thing, and gave him the COMPLETE C6TZ part number and told him what it fit.
It'll be interesting to see if he posts the length and other info in the ad.
Using that 15" ruler makes me wonder if he was pulling a little hanky-panky, to make some peeps (I'm not gonna mention any names!) think it's the one for a V8.
Most peeps are klewless when it comes to Ford part numbers.
length is 27.5 according to him, as Bill(ND) can attest to according to the books there NO cable used on the 65-72 trucks of any size with a cable that length...

And...there is no cable that length in the 1965/72 car parts catalog either.
He sent me the same info, giving that 27.5" length.
I responded that the only C6TZ cable that fits the criteria is 28.66" in length.
It's either mis-marked, or he's reading the remains of the part number tag incorrectly. It might be D6TZ, E6TZ, or even F6TZ.
