You live and learn! I think I bought 2 or 3 from wrecking yards over the years and always had to curl them as they were too long so I probably spent the same.

Looks can be deceiving...

This is NOT the correct accelerator cable for a 1965/66 F100/250 2WD with a 352.

The seller says he doesn't have the complete part number, but he says it does say C6TZ on the partial remains of the ID tag.

Did y'all happen to read my post #29?

There's only one cable with the C6TZ prefix, this one:

C6TZ-9A758-K .. Accelerator Cable-28.66" long / Use with T/E (Thermactor Emission-smog pump) / Fits: 1966 F100/250 2WD 240/300 I-6.

The correct V8 cable used on 1965/66 F100/250 2WD 352's is: C5TZ-9A758-AH, which is 20.00" long.

Seller also says it fits an F150, but that's impossible as there were no F150's till 1975.

Bill go back and look at the pic's he posted on E-bay, looks to be around 20 inches long.
he has a ruler right next to it.

That was why i said it looked to be the right one.

The entire length of cable isn't shown, so the ruler only covers a portion of its length.

That was why i said it looked to be the right one.
I went by what his description says, not by the picture.

He says he doesn't have the complete part number. He says he knows it to be a C6TZ part.

These cables used an ID tag on a piece of tape that was looped over the cable, with ends that glued to each other.

The number is printed in the tape in blue ink.

If it says C6TZ, it's not the correct cable for a V8.

It only fits 1966 F100/250's with 240/300 I-6's with a smog pump.

There is another cable used on 1965/66 F100/250 240/300's without a smog pump: C5TZ-9A758-AG

Bill, how many times did you get a part that was mis-marked? Maybe, just Maybe.... not very likely though....

I certanly dont want to argue with you about it, But it looks to be around 20 inches long.
i just looked again.

I know the numbers dont lie.

It happened all the time. Ford didn't put the part number tags on these cables, the manufacturer did, so mistakes were made.

And whoever actually glued that tag on had no clue about Ford part numbers.

You must be able to see what I can't...the entire length of the cable.

The ruler only covers a portion of its actual length, and the cable is bowed...not stretched out straight, making it more difficult to gauge.

If the seller had stated the length instead of using a ruler, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

I don't want one of y'all to buy this cable, then be disappointed when it won't fit.

I doubt you'll get your money back, either.

If I didn't give a chit, I wouldn't have bothered with this jazz.

LMAORob
Bill W and I met at the WesternNats truck show last June. Don (cs65) was there, as was Dave (Garbz2), and Bill's son, another Bill W.

That made three Bill W(ilsons) in one place, cuz I'm Bill Wilson...and I never argue with another!
