Easy fix. Go to Performance online and get their standard throttle cable you'll have to shorten it and mount to the hole right above the original on the carb, took me about 15 minutes and works great, like driving a new truck.
I dunno...but it is 22.94" long whereas the original is 20 inches long...the application of the -N is 68 big car with 302 or 390 with 2 bbl , 65 big car with 289, and 66-7 big car with 289 or 390 with 2 bbl carb.
I tried several out of other vehicles all we're too long had to curl them to make work. the performance one is cut to fit you can make it any size i'd show you a pic if i could but can't figure it out i'll upload one to my gallery

The carburetor end of this cable will be the same, but I dunno about the end that attaches to the gas pedal.
The extra length could be taken up by using a tie strap.
If not too expensive, it could be bought, then compared to the original.
However, after an internet search on two websites, there are none available at any Ford or obsolete dealer, so if it did work, the only place to get any will be at a wrecking yard.
NPD sells a 66 352 accelerator cable F9A758-14. Its 28.66" long and cost $84.95. I think that is where I bought mine and I think I just put a loop in it and its been working fine for about 3 years

F9A758-14 is NPD's part number, not Ford's.
As original, there were two 28.66" length accelerator cables.
Both these cable are obsolete. No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

This is the V8 cable:
Wish I had known about the Lokar, it was certainly cheaper and as Bill says the one I purchased, although listed for V8 was really for an I6 but it works fine
