HELP! broken throttle cable

my '65 F100 with a 240.

I was about to head to pigeon forge for the f100 supernationals this morning when my throttle cable broke.

I tried NAPA and Oreilly distribution center. No luck.

Any ideas???

is part # C5tz9a758G

28.66 inches long?

In a pinch Ive pulled the old cable out of the sleeve and ran a piece of stainless wire into the sleeve. Attach and ends, and your good to go. Keep the wire on hand, it doesnt last forever...

For my '66 FE, I used a Spectre brand universal cable from Autozone.

Thanks for the replies.

I bought the universal one that you recommended above...I couldn't figure out how to attach the pedal part. So I just used the carb end and attached it to the old cable and trimmed back the original sleeve. It's working for now...I think.

I just want to be able to drive my truck the 30 miles to Pigeon Forge tomorrow, so hopefully it holds!

I still hope I can find a NOS cable from an obsolete vendor or something...
