Welcome to FTE. The reason you're hearing about DP or Tony's tunes, is because unlike the off the shelf tuners, these guys will customize a chip with the tunes you want. Do you want economy, to tow a light trailer, a heavy trailer, get some more power, or just flat haul butt? These guys have settings for each of these options, as well as several others. You get to pick and choose what settings you get on your chip, unlike the other brands you mentioned.
Also, as was pointed out earlier, if you're going to ask for more power from your truck, you should add some gauges to keep an eye on things, and consider investing a little money in beefing up your tranny to handle the extra power.
Luckily you've stumbled across a wealth of knowledge here at FTE. Many have gone down the path your just starting, and you can save lots of money by learning from their mistakes and doing things right the first time.

Tony wildman if you are close to texas and like a rotary style selector and free reburns or get a DP Tuner with a fancy F-5 or F-6 chip so you can get your tunes e-mailed to you and have a fancy selector but you have to pay for reburns.
