IIRC, it was on the my 01 too. With the Ford interface, I thought they could see how many times my PCM was reprogrammed.
Nope...depending on the interface and programming used to flash the PCM, there may be no trace of a reflash. I know that the Edge Evolution that a friend of mine used on his 97 erased the template code from the binary when he would return the computer back to the stock program. It keept him from uploading any other brand of flash tunes into the PCM because it took out the line of code that the programmer looked for to select the correct template/tune file for each PCM.
Ford can't tell how many times the EPROM has been erased in an EEC-V computer.
There is no specific way to tell if a chip has been used.
If a Ford Engineer has access to a CarDAQ, they might be able to tell when the last reflash was done, but nothing more.
Usually they can only tell by physical damage (i.e. Pistons don't melt without a tuner)

I don't follow. If I can tell that you did a reflash on Jan 4, 2007 and you have no service receipts to show that you were at a Ford garage that did it, how would YOU explain that?
