Hey all!
I have a 1987 Ford F-150 6 cyl with the 4 speed +overdrive. I used to drive a '96 that was about the same. Really like the trucks and the sixes. I'm interested in making this an off-road, no-frills vehicle. Want to learn everything about it I can, so I'm looking forward to posting, reading and learning on this board. Thanks!
Hi All, My name is Frank and yup just a little on the Sr side of life, but refuse to grow up I'm new to the Excursion forum but been over at the F250 (2008 F250 5.4l 66,500) for a while. I'm from N.Va and have been looking for a while now for a good Ex. Hard to find for sure. Looking for a 6.8l with low miles. If the mileage don't kill me. I get about 12.5 with my 5.4l.
Been doing a lot of reading on this forum and just like over at the 250 side, a lot of good info here. So in advance; Id like to thank all of you for your answers and help for the upcoming questions.
And a Big Thanks for having me
Howdy, I paid too much for a cosmetically beat-up 1978 F-150 Ranger Explorer. Trim is gone, original paint ruined by what looks like white primer or something, interior and exterior needs lots of work. No tailgate, cracked front grille. There are goofy blue LEDs inside and whited-out blinkers and tail light LEDs, the entire HVAC system has been ripped out, even the window tracks and weatherstripping are missing. Needs new brakes, there's no oil dipstick, there's a screwdriver in the fuel fill tube...seems like I find more the more I look at it. To top it off, a power steering leak I thought was just a pressure hose turns out to be leaking from the gearbox input shaft, so I have to rebuild it.
BUT, the 460 runs great, has an Edelbrock upper intake manifold & Edelbrock 4 barrel carb, and the 3 speed auto was recently rebuilt and shifts butter smooth. No dents or frame rust, tires and rims are in acceptable condition. Almost all the fixes needed are not expensive or particularly difficult. Once I fix the power steering and brakes, it will be 100% drive-able.
Despite paying 3 grand for this...it should be a great project truck and usable for work while I'm restoring it. Lesson learned...don't buy the first thing you see and spend more than 10 minutes looking at it before making an impulse purchase...
Hello all, not sure if I'm in the right place, but here we go. I've been a Ford guy for years. I bought a green 78 F-150 4x4 after graduating high school in 79. I grudgingly sold it 3 years later. Always regretted that. Nine years ago I found it for sale locally. It had been driven by a construction company and was pretty beat up. It's still a work in progress. I also have a '17 black Super duty that's my daily driver.

Hello, Joined yesterday. Just bought a 74 F250 last week I'm still waiting for delivery. I've been checking out FTE forum , it looks like the place to find info. & get ideas by seeing what other people have done with their trucks.

Long bed, nice!
Where in NL are you from? I work in BE so not so far away.
Not surprised there aren't many when the road tax is insane over there. A Dutch friend was offered a diesel F250 for free and turned it down because of the cost to keep it on the road.

i Live in Kerkrade, neighbourhood of Maastricht.
As the truck is 43 years old i don’t need to pay taxee anymore. Cars older than 40 years are oldtimer and tax free, oldtimer ensurance is also not that expensive. And for the LPG i will visit Belgium regularly :-)
Hey guys I'm new to the forum and I've got an 04 F350 CC king ranch 6.0 that I love but need to upgrade soon cause i need more towing capacity and I got newbie questions and I don't know any truck guys cause all my friends are pansies that work in offices and drive cars.
Hey guys,
Thank you for the opportunity and for welcoming me here. I just had my 2005 F150 recently and now it's not
running anymore. It just crank but doesn't turn over.
Hi everyone. New member here, and new to Ford trucks. Just brought home a (seemingly) pretty nice example of a '67 F100 long bed. Pretty stoked! I've had the rear wheels off to fix stuck auto-adjusters. Front are next, maybe a stuck wheel cylinder. Big issues are a slip in the transmission, a leak at the rear main, and ratty, leaky exhaust manifolds.
Hello all. New guy here. Picking up a clean, super low mileage 7.3L ‘01 Excursion as a new dad-van for the family this weekend. Looking forward to it being the last truck I need to buy!
