Hi Melissa I'm Brian, you have no reason to be embarrassed. we all knew nothing about wrenching on our rigs when we started. But at some point, like yourself we decided to learn. That little straight 6 is in my opinion 1 of Fords finest achievements, I've had 3 and miss them all. Good luck with your truck, Brian W.
Hello Butch Boccioletti here from a small town called Aylmer in Ontario Canada. I have a couple of questions --but I was asked not to ask here--
I am a small engine (mechanic) specialist that has had a couple of OLDER fords in my life. 1 st 1948 anglia and now my last a 1947 panel van.driveable and on the road.
Hi: I have been to the site a few times to get answers for my 2003 F250 SD 6.0L Thanks for having the right information in helping me figure out whether I can fix the problem or I have to hand it off to a local shop in Lemoore Ca (LK Unlimited) I have all the Factory shop manuals. The aftermarket ones are great for the average guy. Just not for me. I received this vehicle from my father when he passed away in 2009. We really enjoy having it. Diesel is new to me and this site has been a great help in troubleshooting and fixing the gremlins that pop up every so often.
these trucks are not hard to work on. Getting the right information to fix them is why I choose to subscribe to the site.
hi , I'm ben im 18 and i own a built 1994 ford bronco and am always looking for help to improve my knowledge and ways to keep my ole girl on the road for as long as i can.

So a little about me, I'm an older dude, but still like to turn the wrench on as much as I can. Currently a serving member of the Canadian Armed Forces. So there are times where I have tons of time to work on projects, but then times where it may sit for a fair while. With the places that we have to take our vehicles, it makes my heart skip a beat sometimes when you hear the roar of the diesel trying to make that last little climb to the next gun position, or racing out to make sure your in the front for the 1 gun position. It's gets dodgy at best for some of those races lol. But onto why I joined the site....
After spending the last 3.5 hours of reading the full thread that NicMike wrote up on the axle conversion, it's got me hooked on trying to find a decent X. Until I read most of the forums, I was a solid dodge ram guy. Not the new ones, but the old ugly 2nd gen ones. I am looking to hopefully have one soon, and able to turn it into a capable overland vehicle. From all the info on here and video from an overland channel, it's all I can think of for a new project really lol. Curse you auto hobby gods!! Anyways, I hope that I may in some way be able to contribute to the forum, and will undoubtedly be using A LOT of the info posted here.
My name is Levi, I live in the south Texas area. I have a drive way full of Fords all higher in miles and wouldn’t hurt me one bit to take off to Alaska in any of them. I'm newly registered. Just bought a 2000 Excursion V10 4x4 with 170,000 miles and 400 lbs of rust.
It has a long list of 'wrong' but I'm in it for the git-r-done aspect. I hope to fix the 'needs' via help from this site. There's a ton of information to sift through!
Thank you to all those who have contributed over the years.
I'm building a dual purpose flatbed. I started with a '17 F550 with an 11'3" flatbed. I picked up the truck from a dealer in dallas, and then went to visit DBL Designs on my way out of town. They were able to hook me up, the same day, with a Super Single conversion and their 2 ½" lift.
Over the last couple of months I've installed the lift and wheels, rebuilt the front end suspension, (bad hub and some rod ends) added the factory brake controller, and played around with some ForScan tweaks.
As for my "Dual Purpose" plan it will serve dual duty as a flatbed camper hauler and (not at the same time) a chase truck for off-road racing with a RampTek bed deck.
Great Forum, I've already learned a ton from here
Some progress shots

Hi i am Melissa but I am called Mel by most. I just bought an 2001 Ford Expedition and love all the room. My husband and I are thinking of converting mobile living space for us to travel. Just he re to learn about my new home.
I've been reading on the FTE forums for years, had an '02 F250 7.3L bought new, 6" lift, that I recently sold and replaced with an '01 excursion, 7.3l (kids kept multiplying and the extended cab wouldn't fit 'em). Anyway, I'm interested in lifting the excursion and asking some questions.
Hello, Well, I have started some upgrades to the 93 F150 4x4 extended cab. Bought in 99 with 58K miles. Got T-Boned a few years afterwards. That got fixed. The Insurance paid out a few hundred more than I originally paid for it, so I bought it back as a salvage title. Well now it's time to swap a 351W in to give the 302 a break. That motor has been a beast. The truck now has over 189K miles on it.
Shortly after we brought her home
T-Bone OUCH Bent the frame. Body shop took for ever to get it straight, but they did a really good job.
December 2020 - I put the 10.25" rear end under there after the second 8.8 took a dump, probably 10 years ago. One of the updates is the get the 8lug conversion done so I only have to carry 1 spare.
She is a great truck.
Look forward to gathering some great knowledge from you all. Going to post my first question in the Clutch, Transmission, Differential, Axle & Transfer Case forum in just a few minutes.
