New member intro - thanks!
Thanks for the add!
I am currently driving my second Ford truck - a 2013 XLT extended cab. Haven't done too much but I like the set up. It's got the Coyote 5.0, 4WD and I've added a SCT tuner and Borla exhaust. Some L.E.D.'s, airbags, leveling kit, Fuel wheels and 35" Dick Cepek tires.
I'm most excited about a barn find that I just acquired - a 1968 F250!. It's got the long bed, 360 ci, 4 speed manual and 2WD. The bed has some rust and there are a few spots where some body repairs would be in order. It was the old guy's daily driver until he parked it in his carport 5 years ago.

Just a quick Howdy!
My name is Scott, live in the Lost Pines region of Bastrop County Texas. I've been a Computer Systems Development Specialist at the University of Texas Dept of Computer Science for about 26 years now and I've been turning wrenches on Fords since 1978 when I bought a 1962 Ford Fairlane as my first car. I currently own a 1985 F-350 SD Special Operations Fire Truck (I am a retired Volunteer Chief) a 1991 F150 work truck, and a F550 COE Structural Fire Engine that we are going to try to save after she burned over in the Bastrop Complex Fire in 2011. Oh and an 04 Lincoln LS V8 that is my wife's hotrod.

Hello From the mush-head side of Washington State
Hello all...
Obviously new to the forum, power just went out from windstorm, but UPS is keeping network alive for awhile! Long time auto enthusiast; first car was a 1972 Plymouth Duster slant six. 1971 Charger R/T with 440 just sold that about five years ago. Had a a 1984 F-250 standard cab with the 5.9L Diesel sold many years ago... Many others of no mention needed with current fleet being a '69 Bronco undergoing a frame off restoration, but many delays due to life... a 1977 F-250 Ranger Camper Special with a 460 used for mainly dump runs lol. Then as my name suggest somehow got the Euro bug with an 08'550i sold with current '08 M5 and a 128i. Both are the last NA BMW's of the lineups as everything has gone turbo now. Don't worry you can rib me all you want about the bimmer's, but both have been highly reliable and are driven extremely hard with rear tires being changed every season
Just ordered a '21 F-350, but I leave the detail of that to another post as it's been a strange process...
Glad to be part of the group and hope I can contribute well to the forum! And yes that is my Bullmastiff Enzo next to Greg Whitten's Enzo Ferrari.
Cheers!

Since I just joined I'm clear I'm not guilty and posting in the wrong place. I think.
Just picked up an '02 250 SD V10 6.2L Extended Cab Lariat package 65k miles and in great shape. It obviously spent most of its life inside a garage.
The wife is thrilled and not too happy the rack and cross box are going on soon... if I can get her to stop driving it. Doesn't seem to understand the concept of "work truck".
I'm sure I'll be here to pick up information and thank you in advance for it. First project is to get that center seat gone and a console in it's place!

Hey Everyone!
Hey everyone!
New to the forum but have been non-stop reading as of the last week or so and I can't believe how much amazing info/ people there are in here!
I currently just bought an 88 F-250 4x4 with a 7.3 IDI w/turbo & ZF-S5-42 Trans. So far it's looking like a project truck but it's in considerably good condition as what I've seen so far.
Hoping to be lifting the bed to clean and repaint the frame soon, scrub all of the oil sludge that seems to be on everything underneath, as well as stripping and cleaning the interior. After that, it'll be fuel system overhaul, ignition overhaul, heavy engine cleaning, then will hopefully have an idea for how I'd like to go at upgrading this beast. Looking forward to getting to know you all better and to reading the many posts ahead!
Here's a pic of my truck as of a couple of days ago.

About to start shopping used Super Duties, glad I found this forum!
My first full-size truck was purchased as a new dad who wanted more options in moving stuff, as well as a back-up vehicle . I bought the best beater I could find for my budget, which was an '87 F150 with the 302. To this day I regret selling it, as it was still incredibly torquey and responsive.
I replaced it with what I thought was an upgrade - a '99 F150 with 5.4 Triton. I learned two lessons from this truck;
1) I don't want to talk about it, and...
2) Never again.
I replaced it with an actual upgrade IMO, a '93 F150 with the 351 Windsor. Great engine, though I still missed the snappier drive train of my old 302.
Alas, the curse of beaters are when the electrical problems begin to creep in, and lines have slowly started failing or shorting all over the truck, as happened to the old '87.
I'm now older and have a better budget, and am looking to make the jump to Super Duty, so I thought I'd start talking to others here in hopes of deciding which model to begin looking for.
Thanks for the opportunity!

Hello everyone. My son and I just picked up a 1978 F-150 Custom. It has the 302 double barrel carb with manual transmission on the column. It has a rusted out brake line and it runs, but does not idle very well. I know the gas in it is three years old which doesn't help. Do I have to drain the gas, or would it help to just put fresh gas in? What kind of gas does it take? Would the 91 octaine Non-Oxy be the best? We are looking at restoring it the best we can on our own. Currently I am working on getting the brake drum off. I've backed off the shoes using the star wheel, but still stuck.
Good Day to all,
I am new to the F-150 but not new to FORD. I have a couple mustangs that I have had for the better part of my life and a RV on a F-350. I enjoy moding to make each vehicle my own. I'm currently in a 2018 XLT 5.0 FX4.
Look forward to learning for all of you and hopefully I can do a little helping along the way too.

Hello fellow F-truck enthusiasts.
First of all I head up a team that converts these brand new puppies to RHD.
While sometimes I can't give specific answers on some of the things I do (Workplace agreements/contracts), I will be able to offer some advice in some areas.
I've been a member with ForScan for some time now and found it to be invaluable in what I do here.
I do a lot of R&D and try my best to find solutions with electrical/electronics... sometimes have to outsource though...
Successful most of the time.

also a fellow SuperDuty owner from "Orstralia" located (or atm locked in) the mornington peninsula and may pick your brains on some of the quirky electrical problems that have arisen in my F250 Platinum - used to developing workplace agreements/contracts/negotiations
Hello everybody!!!
Recently got a truck for project, question of doing something with myself as I am retired from construction now. I fell upon a good deal, a dirt cheap 2004 F250 Super Duty, dirt cheap because it has a non-functioning 4x4, rear emergency brakes are shut and ABS light on. I said to myself, since I will be doing this for some time, I signed up here.
It is going to take me a while to finish this project because I can only work on it from spring to early fall, as winters around here does not permit working outside, but getting ready for spring.
My name is John, please to meet you all and see you around.

I have been a member of this forum since 2019 but did not have a lot to offer nor any serious questions that could not be answered by visiting the various forums. BTW, great site - full of meaningful, real world information!
Recently completed a full shock replacement and brake job with assistance of my best friend. While the truck (2013 F250 6.7 Crew Cab) was on the lift, I noticed the body mount bushings were in pretty sad shape. Which will be the subject
of a question I will post in the appropriate area.
