Gaskets or silicone on trans spacer?
Gaskets or silicone on trans spacer?
On my '94 F250, there is a spacer housing bolted between the transfer housing and the auto trans. Does this spacer require a gasket on each side or can it be siliconed?
I prefer using the gasket, you can actually get things apart later. Silicone can be a pain sometimes.
Some genius used the right stuff when he put the transmission in his Dodge... I could not get the 205 separated at the round pattern when I did the clutch...

If you are going to goop it get Honda bond #4 it is the "only" gasket maker that will resist trans fluid, hydraulic oil, gas, etc. The Permatex black or grey say right on the tube that it will not work, they are for engine oil.
