Just got home from voting. There's something to be said for living in small town, rural Texas. We were in and out in 10 minutes. On the way out, I saw how bad *** Jezebel looked parked on the grass so I took a couple of pics.
I've got into the habit of putting everything in an Excel spreadsheet. Also, my cop buddy told me that the only decent way to track tools back to the owner is with your drivers license # etched in somewhere. I used to paint everything hot pink and flourescent green, but they said that was useless. It did make it easy to find at the pawn shop, but not to prove it was mine.
From my wife- Movies are lame, you cant talk. Walks are amazing, or somewhere you can interact with decent friends, preferably ones that think highly of you and make her feel welcome. We sat on a park bench for 6 hours talking after our first dinner, the rest is history. I think if there's a connection, the rest will take care of itself. But then, what the heck do I know.
My first date with my wife.......we went out to Dinner, then went out Dancing, danced our butts off, then just sat down and talked. The band was playing LOUD......but all we could hear was each other, in our own little world
Scott, I love that truck, dwarfs the silverado sitting there. lol.
Thanks, Brent. I love her too. On the way home, a guy in a 7.3 came around the corner coming towards us and as he rounded the corner he rolled a little smoke. In response, I rolled a little too and as he passed he gave me the thumbs up.
And first dates, I recommend the long walk in a public place with plenty of people around.
Don't try and "get off alone" at first.
A shopping mall food court would be a good place to start.

Hmm. Yeah best first dates I have been on, a movie wasn't involved. Movies do suck, no talking, and a heavy dinner can be awkward too. Nothing like trying to make a good first impression, and have to try and be polite and not drop sauce on your lap! (cuz thats the kinda crap I do). Dinner can be a good indicator of behavioral issues though. In my past experiences, I have had quite a few men get mad at me over my food choice. I had a guy one time get mad at me for ordering a grilled cheese sandwich over lunch, because, in his opinion "I coulda made that at home". That was the LAST date we ever had...idiot...
Randy and I went to Dave and Busters on our first date. (its an adult arcade). We played games and had a few drinks and laughed our asses off, and once we were comfortable with one another we sat down and had dinner.
Third date I told him to get a few guns ready, I came and picked him up in Big Red, drove him up into the mountains, and we went shooting for an entire afternoon.

I disagree with the friends thing, at least on the first date. A first date should just be the two of you.
That's a pretty dang good idea, Jim. Makes me think I should take an inventory of all my tools. Over the years I've gathered quite a collection of hand and mechanics tools. I don't even want to know how much I've spent on tools, and it's not even expensive stuff like Snap-On. Almost all my stuff is Craftsman or Kobalt. Not that I use my tools in my line of everyday work, but you never know when that list might come in handy.
Thanks Jeremy. Another thing to go along with the inventory is pictures. In the event that someone breaks into your garage and takes your rollaway. The pictures will be a life saver for you when it comes to the insurance co. You can have all the lists that say I had this and I had that. A picture proves it.

Yep, have to be able to talk. I've got a first date in 2-1/2hrs.... sushi first, and I picked the place because of the parks nearby. It'll be a bit chilly for a walk & talk, but still should be OK for a short bit. Wish me luck (I'm leaving the toothpicks at home for this one Lisa!)
