not off the spoiler, no, but we'd tie a rope to something on the back end (tow loop, trunk latch, etc.) and go across ice, mud... heck, pile up enough leaves to sit on and you can do woods trails!!
I went truck sledding through a field last year. Got an old car hood, tied it to the bumper of the truck, get on the hood and hold on. Terraces at 20 MPH while riding on the ground suddenly seem really big.

Hmmmmm.... I've got a replacement hood for my Passat, and the old one is all dinged up anyway (hail damage)..... i know a guy with a welder and I'm SURE he'd tack on some handles for me....... it's a good thing you & I don't live closer to one another....
maybe in a year or two I'll have a turbo bike and take it out to the Salt..... THAT would be wicked fun!!! 200+.... aaaaahhhhhhh... i'm getting jazzed just thinking about it!!!
It's odd to watch the speedo stop at 186, yet the tach keeps climbing. We all know the speedo is over estimating the speed of the bike up that high, but I also know the top speed of the bikes I've done it on has been reported numerous times in the magazine tests at 183-186, so when my RPM quit climbing, I was pretty sure I had hit over 180.
We've got a mighty long (2 mile) stretch of straight and flat road around here that you can without a doubt reach top speed of any production bike. There's a nice downhill gentle sweeper leading into it, so you can hit the straight already doing 100-120. The length of the straight allows plenty of time to get up to max speed and get slowed down before the next corner. It's flat on both sides of the road, and in an unpopulated area.
I think the salt would make me nervous. Not the speed, but the lack of traction. Turbo 'Busa & 4 miles of straight asphalt though and I'm in!

I-83 going south in the southern part of PA has a stretch similar to that, and very few places on the side for "observation".... LOL
If I could get my hands on a "somewhat" unmolested 'Busa.... we might have to go road-hunting.... Texas is what I'm thinking...

No kidding. We would no doubt get ourselves into some trouble...all while having a darn good time doing it.

I've heard those boys down in Texas are serious about their bikes and highway racing. Stretched, slammed, and modded to the hilt. Oklahoma supposedly has it bad too. So much that their Highway Patrol has at least two guys trained and on fully modified Busas to chase them down.
The story I was told by a local officer here, who's a motorcycle cop and has talked with these guys in OK, is that the Hi Po called up Velocity Racing and told them to make two bikes as fast as possible. They then got two officers trained on how to ride them properly, and at speed. It's worked so well, that they are getting several more made and training more officers.
Could you imagine the sight of blasting down a highway at triple the speed limit and being caught by a Hi Po on a modded bike, lights ablaze?
(my buddy got the afternoon session and walked when the officer didn't show!!!)
Hah, the Irony. I am off to court right now, dammit, day off. My guy is not going to be so lucky. He is a thief though, so different story. He's not going to walk. The other guy was driving on suspended so it sucks to be him too. Later folks. Be safe.
Every guy I rode motorcycles with back East (8yrs+ ago) had lost their license at least once. Even me. I didn't get any points on my license until my 13th speeding ticket (my buddy got the afternoon session and walked when the officer didn't show!!!) I've "car-surfed" an 87 Regal at 70mph (dumb! but oddly fun...) tripled the speed limit on the highway, and should be dead several times over.
Now I drive my truck like grandpa Moses with a broken right foot.
I've been incredibly stupid and incredibly lucky. Don't make it a habit. Go 15 over in a residential area and have a child run out in front of you after their ball/toy. Imagine trying to stop your 4tons in time.....
Still.... 165mph+ is really alot of fun!!!! Just do it in the right place.
Chris (That_guy) - if you're not familiar with Howard County cops, do yourself a favor and don't give them a reason
Haha yea I had a run in with them when we were in my friends truck. Some new cop started throwing codes out at us because my friend had dual exaust on his 6.0 saying your not allowed to change a stock car/truck in any way. Boy was that guy an idiot though

No doubt, but your "average" HoCo cop is an A$$!!! They're bored, so if they can pull you over, they'll normally be a total d**k. I got to where I carried a little personal voice recorder and whenever one was around, I turned it on. Too many times they said one thing and then changed their story later. They are SHADY.
Well, glad to know i'm not alone... some of your stories were quite interesting lol. As for mine, looking at $171 for the ticket itself, $60-75 for driver improvement clinic and 6 points on my clean license (clinic takes off 5). Now, what I'm thinking, get my speedo recalibrated (finally) and take that with me to court on the 23 of January, show them that yea my speedo's 9% off, maybe get a nic judge and get it cut down to atleast 64 in 45 and only get ~$100 ticket and 4 pts. on my license.

I doubt it. In my case, you barely have any word in edgewise. You get scheduled for a court appearance along with 200 other people in the same boat as you. Essentially you walk up to the podium, and you are only allowed to say "guilty" or "not guilty". If you claim not guilty they'll schedule another court appearance and you'll still end up getting a ticket, and then you have to pay court fees too.
If you plead guilty you just pay your fine and they knock it down to a lesser charge and you're outta there.
I doubt the judge will be halfway interested in anything you have to say about anything, unfortunately.
