Turbo rebuild

What turbo was used on the 085 ats kit? I need a new set of bushings for a turbo system I am selling to my cousin and cant figure out what I need.

I decided to sell off my ats kit because I found an older more complete banks kit that turned out to be for an auto, but I now have 3 leads on 2 wastegated 94 kits and another banks kit. What a dilemma, so many to choose from and very little money to do it!

The turbo was a Garrett I believe, at least the later ones were.

I know the 088 uses a garrett T04B turbocharger with a custom turbine housing, chances are the older 085 used the same thing. The later 093 used a T3/4 hybrid that was wastegated.

I guess Ill order the to4b kit and see if it will work.
I am going to call on the other turbo systems today and see what I can get.
You guys will be the first to see them when they go up forsale,Im just debating wether to make the automatic banks kit fit my manual, or if it would be better to run the wasgated turbo from the 94's. I suppose it really doesnt matter, but the banks kit is 99% complete and has no play at all.

FYI- The standard T3, T04B, and T04E all used the same center section and thus all have the same core parts (bearings etc), so any kit listed as being for a "T3/T4" will work.

Make sure you get the correct compressor seal though...that turbo should have a dynamic seal.

The factory turbo IDI's had a T04B, I'm not sure exactly what the Banks kit uses, but it's probably that or a T04E.

I don't think the T04B is available with a wastegate. Which is why I maintain that the 093 uses a T3/4 hybrid, which is based on the T3 center section. At least I think thats how it worked.....

Well I do know that the ATS factory system uses a T3/T04B hybrid...not sure what their aftermarket kit used/uses.

Yes, although, 2 things there.

#1, holy crap that guy charges a lot for shipping.

#2, most likely you don't need quite that complete of a kit.

I've rebuilt 3 or 4 turbos over the last couple years, and I've never messed with one that needed as many parts replaced as what comes in those "major" rebuild kits.

So unless your turbo is pretty well trashed, I recommend this:

The crossover pipe is different where it goes around the bellhousing, I think that's the main difference...
