ATS 088

Ok guys, I sent the top hat of my dad's ATS 088 turbo to a member on here. I found ANOTHER 088 ENTIRE kit....

The guy lives 10 minutes from my house. I forgot to call him for 30 days...shockingly he still had it. So I said well I will be home soon. And he said ok 350 bucks and its all yours. I said deal. I am gonna sell off my Banks Turbo kit. and throw this one on. I am just wondering, what would a Non-wastegated turbo kit go for with brand new piping from banks? I bought this kit for 300 bucks, and I am just wanting to be rid of it. Any ideas?

My Questions about the two kits: Both are non-wastegated. So which one sees better power increases? WHich one sees better MPGs and whatnot? I would love to hear testaments from everyone about it. It would be sweet to know whats what since I know more about ATS than Banks.

From what I have read on the non-wastegated models, the power is about the same.

Hey snapon, question about the power difference, can you learn me up on any other major differences besides the bloody make and model of these turbos that I should know about: EGT's, boost numbers, all the goodies.

I don't really know of any, all I know izat they are both non-gated. Power is about the same. Maybe a little higher with the banks but not really noticeable.

With a non-wastegated turbo doesn't make the low end boost of the wastegated system but high end egt's will be lower, from what I gathered at the time I bought mine everyone was claiming about the same 50%power increase and around 20% mileage increase.
I think the real deciding factor here would be how easy are they to work around (i.e. doing glowplugs and other general maintenance)

Well then, if its just the lower end boost That I have to worry about, then im not gonna complain, if the EGT's are lower, thats always a nice thing to have peace of mind over.

The way I understand it the egt's are higher on a wastegated system because the exhaust housing has to be sized smaller to spool that turbo so quickly, so at high rpms they don't flow near as much due to their size.
