Seized Spindle Nut
In trying to remove the front hub assembly on my 1992 F-350 Centurion, I have found that the inside Spindale nut is seized. I have tried the proper nut tool (even with a air-impact and 150PSI) and it would not budge.
Any suggestions on how I can get this thing off of there without damaging the spindle (any more that it is). The front end is a Dana 60 monobeam.

I had the same problem with a 44, the only way I could get it off without damaging the spindle was to cut the hub off just behind the nut with a dremel tool. Then "score" the nut with the dremel to about 1/16" from spindle, take a cold chisel and pop the nut apart. Not a nice way to do it, but, I tried just about everything else I could before resorting to this method. Of course I had to replace the hub. The spindle was saved as was the rotor. Might try a drill bit to punch holes in the nut to see if that may loosen it by relieving tension on it. This didn't work for me though. Thought about heat, but, I didn't feel comfortable with this due to the fact I needed to save the spindle and rotor and feel heat may have warped or taken the hardness out of them. Mine doesn't go to the garage that did the front end work anymore! I've also found that the hub nut tool with the tabs sticking out works much better than the recessed type. Sorry I don't have any other ideas for you, maybe someone else can help out with a less destructive method! Chuck P.
