D44 Dis-assembly. Spindle Stuck

I'm pulling the front spindles off my D44 ('78 F250) for some needed bearing and U joint service. I believe it is running the same parts and grease Ford used in 1978.

I have the brake rotors off and have removed the 5 nuts holding the spindle. I cannot get the spindle to budge. I've tried tapping it around the edges with a chisel, a rubber mallet on the brake caliper mounts and floor jack + wood block under the spindle. No go.

Any ideas on how to get this off without hurting anything?

It threads onto the spindle and pushes against the axle stub...

No problem.

Most parts stores should rent one on the cheap, or loan it out for free.

It worked. Autozone's example uses a slide hammer instead of jack screw but it got the job done. It took quite a few full whacks but off it came.

Good to hear.

It's better than damaging your spindle.
