I have an '01 supercrew with the factory tow package and when I first plug in my flat trailer using the round connector and hit the brakes the trailer brake lights will not come on. If I have the parking lights on the trailer lights go out when I hit the brakes. Same general thing when I use the 4 flat connector for another trailer.
BUT, after I am on the road for a short time, maybe a few miles, everything starts working and there are no more problems. I used to pull a trailer several times a year and don't believe I ever had this happen, but I haven't trailered much in the last 2-3 years. The first time this occured was a couple of years ago and then today.
Fuses are good- I swapped them out just to be sure with new ones and no change until I was on the road.
Has anyone experienced this or know if Ford has an issue with it?
