Side engine mounts in a 55

Side engine mounts in a 55
Howdy all,
I am going to use side engine mounts and a rear trans mount in my truck when I install the 292 and E4OD.
Does anyone have suggestions on how I should proceed?
I am assuming that I'll just connect to the frame on each side with a piece that will go under the pan to keep the frame from twisting.
Anyone been there-done-that or is there anything out there after-market that might make it easy? (I know....nothing is easy!)
Thanks,
Rick

The 1954/59 Y block cars (except T-Birds) used right/left front motor mounts.
The 55/57 T-Birds used the same type of motor mount arrangement the trucks used.
On the Birds, there is also a right & left "steady rest" mount that bolt to the side of the engine using an L shaped bracket, then there's a round rod from the bracket to a similar L shaped bracket mounted on the frame rail.
On each end of this rod are two round rubber mounts.

I am not sure about this but I think that an engine mount for an FE(352-390) might work.
I pulled a 292 Y block out of a '62 Galaxie and swapped in a 390 and that was a direct bolt in swap. Even the rubber mounts were the same. So maybe one of those tubular mounts that Mid Fifty sells for the FE conversion might work for your Y block.

Fits: 1960/63 Galaxie 292 / 1960/64 Galaxie 352 / 1961/64 Galaxie 390.

Howdy Bill and merten! Thanks!
It looks like that's exactly what I need!
There's no way I can utilize a bell-housing mount like the Y-block trucks use since the E4OD is FAR longer than any Fordomatic or manual. (see the pics in my gallery)
I thought about trying to make some sort of mount and add it to the adapter I have but everything is going to be VERY heavy. I must support the trans at the back like it was in the F450 it came out of. To keep everything balanced I need to use the side mounts on the engine so I don't put undue stress on the adapter and bell housing etc.
Because the trans and "Superduty" tail mounted parking brake assy makes the trans so long, I have to shorten the front drive shaft about 20-24" I'm sure glad I don't have 4 wheel drive!!
Thanks again,
Rick
