i had a leaking steering box on my 91 f250. i knew this so i bought a kit for it. when i was making my big move 2 months ago the box gave up the ghost...kinda. ihad power steering turning right but not left. the pump was also in bad shape...couldnt seal the hose at the pump it'd always dripple a little and started popping the cap off. i stumbled across a new box off an F150 for free so i took it, i was gonna put the kit in it but i really wanted power steering to haul the insides of my house to the dump. so i threw it on, found a pump in my stash of crap off who knows what threw the two of them on didnt' even tighten the hose up properly, used a hammer to put the correct ps pump pulley on it, and a BFH for the pitman removal and installation, and everthing works perfect...not a drop leaks.... i cant believe it no pump whine... the power steering on this truck has been probably the biggest PIMA i've ever had.. i was always replacing something on it...and i always put on new parts, hoses from FORD not whoever auto parts...and it would last a short time and something else would leak or fail.. i cant believe this has worked now for 2 whole months.. no problems.. maybe the box was always the problem.
