serious amounts of water under the passenger carpet

In the process of installing my body lift, I noticed an alarming amount of water underneath the passenger carpet. So much so, that it's starting to rust out my floor plan! On a 2005!!

WTF? Anyone have any ideas?! The water itself was clean as a whistle and didn't smell at all like anything nasty (antifreeze, moldy)

I'm mystified...

this is a common problem with these trucks..... it is believed to be the A/C condensate drain being plugged up and the condensate then running into the floorboard rather than the tube it should. it is a real challenge trying to find it though to clean.

Moonroof?

otherwise, I agree with Mattd17. The A/C condenser drain is likely clogged and you need to clean it out, or replace

Not to nitpick, but...

The A/C condensor is the unit mounted in front of your radiator, which cools hot R-134A coming out of the compressor...

You're thinking of the evaporator!

There's a TSB on the brake light. Had mine replaced while under warranty.

Try running your A/C on Max for a while (enough to get the "water flowing") and run your hand under the heater core box in the pssnger side. See if you can feel any moisture.

I had this problem on my 2006 f 150. When I first noticed it when taking a 200 mile ride in a steady downpour, had ac on. 2 day's later I removed my rubber floor mat to clean and noticed my carpet was soaked, I removed sillplate and kick panel and pulled carpet back and found serious amount of water (passenger side) I thought my friend's water bottle had leaked there was so much water. 1 month later I discovered problem again and started testing, pulled carpet back and put ac on high and sure enough water started leaking in cab. I called the dealer and they said bring it in they knew what the problem was (there is a TSB on it) The problem is the tube on the evaporator sticks out straight thru the firewall and is about 1inch long, no downspout. They had my truck overnight. When I got my truck back I looked at the repair and noticed the elbow they installed cockeyed. I stuck my hand up there and touched it and it fell off. It was packed with red grease and impossible to install as it is the same ID as drain tube. I went to autozone and bought a bypass hose, cut to lenght and installed with a wire tie. End of problem. I am not at work but I saved the part # and can provide it when I get back to work (knee surgery tommorrow) So my Dealer knew the problem but between them and Ford they couldn't fix it right. Hope this helps.

Open hood, crawl or raise truck and look up you'll see drain right behind right cylinder head, valve cover area. It sticks out straight with no downspout. Water drains and runs along bottom of drain back into cab.

Had the condensation in floorpan problem with my '05. Clean the drain on the passenger side firewall (engine side of cab) and go to you dealer to ask for the elbow that I purchased to fix this. The elbow is listed by Ford in a TSB for this very problem. Elbow costs less than $5.00, but is a huge pain in the @ss to get to. I had to remove the upstream oxyen sensor on mine to get the elbow on. Take a good falshlight and attempt ONLY when engine is completely cool! Good luck.
