good work tim with both of your recent projects. how easily adjustable are the shift points with the ese? do you have to drop the pan every time?

Yes to adjust the shift you have to drop the pan and remove the Accumulator body to change springs. I also used some Sonnax accumulator valves in the install and they have shims that I can add or remove to change the shift feel as well.

Just a quick warning....I am on the fence about whether this mod will stay on my truck. So if you were gonna get this please wait another week or so. I will give more details later as to what the issue I am facing.

Sorry still don't know! So far it hasn't been too bad. But the real test will come next week when I have some towing to do. The jury is still out.....

It's the idle line pressure that is important.
Its all about being ahead of what is needed.
Its why i posted the link over on the otherside.

In the link you can signup. It will get you to the drawings.
You have to remember the EPC system blows/bleeds off pressure
down low and less up high RPM. Also has the limp system pressures. Its a on demand type for MPG.
The VO will set the bottom then in the upper RPM the fluid goes thru and around the VO when the spring compresses.

Thanks Bill. I didn't realize there was more info to be had there! I didn't read it word for word but the info on the VO helped me understand more. Could you refresh my memory as to what pressures I am looking at idle and stall.

I still haven't tested line pressure but I will be keeping the ESE setup. The shifting issue I had either disappeared (relearned even though many say it can't) or I adjusted my driving to keep it from happening. Either way so far I am happy with the ESE. Its cheap and fully adjustable!

I'm one of those that says it cannot learn. The first Ford of any kind that could learn to adapt shift pressures was in 1999. The first trans behind a diesel that had this was the TorqShift in 2003.

I worked with the software, I'm not just guessing.

I know where you stand Mark but there are just some thing that can't be explained if the trans doesn't have a some adapt. But that has been discussed already so I don't care to get in to it.
