I never realized how dirty it really was till I started cleaning it. . . and after I cleaned one little spot, I had no choice but to keep going. Now I got half of it done

Here are a few more. Damn its a lot of work. . . pulling out the inner fender liner. wiring harness. Problem is. . . being that I am a perfectionist, I'm going to end up completely dissassembling this whole truck and painting everything to show condition! Oh boy I gotta stop!

Well I got this nice little platform to stand on. . . makes it less tiring as I don't have to be kneeling in the engine bay the whole time. .. but some of those angles hurt a little not going to lie. Oh and when the inner fender liner was out, I just stood on the tire

Man Timmy, looking at mine, its really dirty. Looks real good so far....Also, i got to hit the junkyard tomorrow or tuesday, i'll look for one for yaa...
I don't think I've ever seen someone be so literal about half way cleaning the engine Timmy. Nice work so far. If you need any practice before you tackle the other half, feel free to stop by my place.
Mike, if your hitting the junkyards, I need one of those black acorn shaped nuts that holds the plastic cover over the fuel bowl.

I got yaa, i'll check for yaa. Matter of fact, from all the washing under the hood, the last time i changed my fuel filter, mine were corroded big time, used some SS nuts and bolts the same size. I'll definetly look for you though...

I can tell by the pic of the underside of your hood. Where is your insulation? Is this the high performance insulation delete?
i have a whit truck, used simple green and a brush on the under side of the hood and a lil pressure water on the rest, looks just as good and a lot less work.
Eh in my experience, a degreaser and power wash never does as good as a good scrubbing. This cleaner I have from work really works well too. It actually isn't hard work. . . just spray this stuff of and wipe it off. It just dirties up the rags quickly thats all. And the reason for my insulator being missing is that the last time I had an exxon Valdez incident, it soaked the insulator with oil. So I burned it and I'll eventually get something else up in there. Its looking a little to XLish, and needs a little finishing touch Not to dog on you XL guys well to bed with me, I'm tired.
