Cam swap question

If I'm throwing in a new, but mild cam, do I need to replace the valve springs. I'm looking at a Summit kit, part# sum-k5200, which come with lifters and I'll replace the timing set also. I know I probably should, but do I really need to replace the springs?

You dont have to, but if the springs are old you should test them. Also if you want to run higher RPMs you need stiffer springs.

Springs are cheep. You should use the recomended spring & get rid of the exhaust rotators if your heads have them. I would check push rod length also. Aftermarket cams can have a different base circle.
