Simple cams for my 300 I6
if i do change cams, like even if its the base model. should i have to replace my tappits, springs, rods, and so on?

A Crane Gold Race Roller Rocker was also installed in my 300 I-6, but had to go w/ a taller Valve Cover.
This is the complete build on my engine @ $4246.64 by JMS Racing Engines, of Monrovia, CA..
300 H.P. @ 4600 rpm & 400 F.P.T. @ 3200 rpm w/ a 10 to 1 C.R.
It idels @ 675 & is smooth as glass, a quarter was placed on top of the Valve Cover & it Did Not move Nor rattle @ least on the Dyno's engine stand anyway.

You didn't state whether you had an efi or carbed engine. The above are efi friendly without computer modifications.
You wouldn't have to replace your rods, you would need to change the lifters and depending on the miles of the engine the springs, be a good idea to change the springs anyway. Would also be a good time to go ahead and change the timing gears.
