Even if you wanted to drive your truck down there, which I can't say I blame you, something tells me you wouldn't have to set up the tent in the bed of the truck -- a whole bunch of guys around and a chick that digs trucks, even has a modified one of her own, needs a place to stay...yeah, I don't think the bed of your truck is your only options.
.
Indeed. However, most of the guys around here have wives, and somethin tells me I won't be too popular with the wifeys...so out in the cold I go!
Cept maybe Susan, I can totally see myself having one too many margaritas with that girl.

I'll bring my quad...that way I can tie a rope to your boot and drag you back to your cabin if you need a lift...

PS: Keep up the good work lisa!
lol, thanks Tim! Wait till you guys see me with a few (or 10) drinks in me. I turn into a total clown, and the sexuality gets worse. There is so such thing as a topic that can't be turned sexual. Sex is funny! I love being around funny people too, they are like sounding boards and when I have good humor chemistry with someone, we usually sit and laugh all night long.

Cris..maybe you should look at driving to the place of the nearest FTE member who is going to Smokin, and hitch a ride. I wonder if Travis is going. Might be worth checkin it out. If you don't come Susan and I will be over there drinking by ourselves.
LOL. Yes! Coconut margaritas. Her and I will be 3 sheets to the wind before dinnertime...
Ok everyone, here in a few minutes i'll be leaving work and droppin the dog off at my brother's house and beginning my road trip to Iowa.
Taking Randys Z, unfortunately , but, it gets good mileage (only about $100 total to get all the way to Cedar Rapids). The truck gets to sit this one out.
I'll take some pictures, show you all what my new town will look like. I think we'll have internet access in the hotel so I can post when I find time.
I'll play it safe. I know the highways aren't safe at night, so I am driving 3 and a half hours and staying at a friend's place in North Platte tonight, and ill be up at 4 or 5 in the morning and back on the road to reach Cedar Rapids by noonish. My butt will be sore by the time I get there but the car has great AC, cruise control, a good stereo system, and I have 1,000's of songs on my ipod so I should be okay.

North Platte!
My family is from North Platte and Stapleton. Been there many, many times. I'm envious!

We may be distantly related somehow. My grandma's family were big time farmers in the North Platte area, and the Dreier family (Dryer as its spelled now) settled in Grand Island Nebraska. My grandparents moved to Colorado after they met.
As of now, I have a stepsister that lives there, and my stepmom just bought a house somewhere in the NP area and owns a little place off Big Mac.

My Uncle (James Beckius) owns a big cattle ranch in Stapleton. His parents (my grandparents) had a small farm in North Platte on Sixth St on the west side of town. I spent many, many summers at both. My Uncle Ed was the Sheriff in Logan County, just up the road. That's all on my Dad's side. My Mom's side are the Kisers. My Grandpa worked for the UP at Bailey Yard and they lived on North Jefferson, very near Front St.
We are related to the Brocious', the Karnes and the McCormicks. All have farms or ranches in the area.
Well ****, Lisa leaves and the thread dies. Chris, will your husband allow you to take up the slack for us? I've a brand new litter of Shih Tzu's. 5 of them less than 24 hours old. Too little to even check the gender yet.
The rest of you need to quit talking about smokin, its not fair to those of us who live too far way LOL
Too far away is a matter of perception and opinion. If you want it bad enough, there's no such thing as too far away. Just look at Lisa...she's up and moving all the way to Iowa so she can be closer to the Smokin' event.
Lisa, have a safe trip. I hope you and Randy are excited about the town are able to find a good place to live.

I'm not sure that 39 minutes between posts constitutes a dead thread.
Great looking deck work Mark. I am planning on a pretty large deck on the back of the house, but I've got to finish my 30x60 shop first. I'll call you in a year or so.....if you're still alive.
