Will the Edelbrock 2105 intake work?

I have a 1975 F150 with a 390. I am in the middle of a rebuild. I want to replace the boat anchor 4V cast iron intake with and edelbrock low rise dual plane intake model #2105. According to Summit it will work up to 1976 models. I also have found where it says it will not work on a 1975 engine. Who is correct? Remember, the heads are stock 1975 heads that came with a stock 4V cast iron intake. I want to get the right intake. The engine will be a normal street use truck designed for towing and daily activities, not a race truck or anykind of high performance truck. I am just working towards getting a strong torque setup. I have the Melling MTV-4 cam and 9.6:1 compression speedpro pistons in the block. I was also curious as to the size carb. It came stop with a Holley 600 vacuum secondaries. Would it be better to go with a 700dp or should I stay down to nothing larger then a 650cfm?

i bet it will....
instead of looking at summit try some of the engine reman. sites and run down their engine selection chart..like s and s engine...
they will also show applications....
fitting and sealing will be two different things i have found.( as in oil leaks)

Since all the FEs are pretty much the same dimensionally, any intake that will work on one will fit the rest with maybe the 427 being an exception.

For towing stay with a 500 cfm carb and away from headers. You need torque not rpms. Before you say that you can't I tow anything that I want with a 390 cfm carb on my FE.

I think headers are fine as long as there is sufficient back pressure, but some will surely be along shortly to school me.

Ford and Holley both recommend the 4 barrel, 600 CFM vacuum secondary carbs for the 390s. Ford actually sold engines with that carb on them. The other carbs mentioned are just flat too small.

Bear, If I may, There were never that many 390s installed in trucks, and few of them with 4 barrels. Most truck FE engines 352s and 360s came with 500 cfm two barrels.

Car engines are a different story. IMHO

No you may not. You are incorrect, the 2 barrels were all 350 CFM or less from the factory, even on the 390s. The early 1970s trucks had 390s with 4 barrels. He is putting an aftermarket intake on the engine. A 4 barrel will get better mileage than the stock 2 barrel and way better than a 500 CFM 2 barrel which is a racing carb and not meant for the street.
