I found a new Edelbrock #2105 on Ebay and it is listed to fit a FE 360 and 390. It also say's it will NOT fit a Ford FE heavy duty 361 or 391 truck motor.
I have never heard of a 361 or 391 CI heavy duty FE truck engine. Can someone please explain this to me? Also the guy I bought the truck from said it has a 360 BUT I would like to verify this. Is there an external way to tell the difference between a 360 and 390?
Thanks for any help.
Yes, it will fit. The 360 and 390 are the same externally. Like HIO said, to tell them apart you need to measure the stroke.
What the Ebay poster was talking about is the 361 and 391 FT engines. These were heavy duty engines used in the F500 and up trucks, they are similar to but not the same as the 360 and 390 FE.
