Next question: Anyone have any experience with the Edelbrock 2105 intake manifold? Also, any recommendations on a carb to go with it? Looking to save some weight, but don't want to spend a fortune on aftermarket parts. I read that this intake manifold won't accept a 2 barrel carb, so I've been looking at the 4 bbl recommended on the Edelbrock website, but I'd like to know if anyone has a specific 4 bbl carb they'd recommend.
I have a '65 with a newly rebuilt 352. Plan on running headers once I get the "new" engine into the truck.
Not an authority, installed the dual Plane Edlebrook Performer with a 1/2" ported spacer on my 70 302. Installed a Holley (1850) 4160 4bb.; a 600cfm carb, which I would think is probly about right cfm for a 352. Went with the carb only because I had rebuilt Holley 2bbl that was originally on the 302 and found the carb fairly simple and basic. Rebuilt a another 1850 as a backup off ebay dirt cheap and found it as basic as the 2bbl. Perhaps other members can provide suggestions, or comments on some of the other carbs, if not comments may try posting question in the Carb forum.
I have a 302 and recently rpllaced the carb with a Summit brand 600 cfm 4 barrel. Runs excellent right out of the box. Just a little tweeking of the idle screws. It's an old Holley design that Summit bought the rights to. Works great.
I had a 2105 & an Edelbrock 1405 carb on my '66 390-it ran great, even at my 6000 ft+ elevation. It was nice to get rid of that cast iron boat anchor of a stock manifold, and it made a noticable improvement in performance.
just recently updated the 352 with a 2105, originally went with an Edelbrock 1405 carb, but it leaked right out of the box... So I exchanged it with a Holly 600 cfm ,, runs great
Thanks for the info guys, I really appreciate it! This is a whole new thing for me (I'm a pharmacist......never been mechanically inclined). I'm having a great time learning about a subject I know so very little about and you are all helping me immensely!
