i used my stock clamp to hold the turbo to the x-pipe with no issues, and or leaks.
again, the housing is aluminum but the tab for the map line on a sd is metal, what is left of it can be seen in my 3rd pic below the fuel filter lid lip. its just a nub now but started out as a flared metal tube the pointed to the passenger side of the engine bay.
you cant see my second hole that i used a pipe plug on, its actualy behind the filter housing just to the right of the vacum nipple. the flat square area in the first picture is the way the x-pipe comes. that is where the wastegate actuator bracket sat
Ok, here is a original early 99 y pipe, and that clarifyes all to me:
Ok thanks. I have the right one just need some boots and do a lil welding.
Was the pipeing hard to make I do not any sd pipes I was just going to bend my own at an exhaust shop and try that.
i didnt want the kinked bends that exhasut benders would make so i used a combo of 7.3 and 6.0 tubes to get the desired lengths and bend then used couplers to put it together.
How did you bend the line of the AC in the passenger side?, because I saw mine and compared with your in the pic # 2, mine is straight (obviously obstruct the space for the IC pipe) and yours is really angled (sp?). Do you have to disconnect it (I dont think so but?) or only bend it? and with what in case you use some tool (any tips?)

i cant remember which ones i tweeked but it was mostly to get my big arms in there to work. its soft metal, it bends easy. i kind of remember bending the drivers side more though, thats the one seen in the 4th pic but i bent it to get my arm down there to get on the boots.
your cooler is tight up top to the core support though, i have mine mounted lower. i could have pulled it up some but it seemed happier in its current location.
I already have the ic installed just have to run the pipeing. But I will take pics of the pipes and how I have them set up when I get them all bent right. Im going to try to make both sides just one piece.
