last weekend i went up to my lake house in livingston.on my way home headed south on i45 the truck cut out on me.wtf!
so i go to a local auto zone and buy me a new cps put it on there and now its runnin rough.
i can change a cps on the side of the road but if that doesnt fix it im lost.
I wouldn't have it towed unless its just undriveable as it is. Reason is even though the CPS is under a recall there is no guarantee the dealer will pick up the tab for the tow. If you don't mind the cost of the tow then this isn't a big deal.
What I've found is the only ones that work reasonably well are the Ford & Navistar CPS's - I've tried NAPA, Federated & Advance w/o too much success.
Makes me wonder if Ford/Navistar are having them screened (Electrically) in some way that the other parts houses don't know about. I can't imagine too many people are in the business of making these.
