i am trying to remove the steering stabilizer on my 2005 super duty. i loosened the bolts, compressed it and removed it from the top mount. for a direct replacement, do i hammer out the lower stud on the drag link and then just use a bolt with the new stabilizer? i dont think this has ever been changed and i hammered it a little and it didnt budge. i just dont want to break anything and make more work.
i know this is supposed to be an easy job.
Hit it with some wd-40 or other lubricant if it won't budge. Or you could just keep tapping at it. It should come free. I also wouldnt go with a direct replacement. I personally would go with an inline dual stabilizer. One shock works in reverse of the other. Rough country makes a nice one for $100.
i did soak some pb blaster on it. ill keep trying i guess. i am going to get a dual in line but this is $30 and i might have some more problems that i want to fix first.
i think it has been in there for 110k but it wasnt too hard. i just didnt want to break something. dc, i asked you before but what is the price on the dual steering stabilizer? icon shocks.
