can this be removed ???

I'm in the process of installing the Sky Jacker dual steering stabilizer and the driver side stabilizer is hitting the part circled in red (not sure the name of it). With this on the way, I am unable to bolt on one end of the stabilizer. This part is not attached to anything other than its just wrapped around the bar -- not certain the purpose of this piece.

Can this part be removed without any negative effects?

I have no issues on the passenger side.

It is the adjusting sleeve bracket. I would not recommend removing it. It is a means of ensuring the adjusting sleeve does not rotate if hit by anything you roll over.

The Adjusting bracket usually can be rotated out of the way. Just use proper torque on the bolts and don't rotate the adjusting sleeve.

Installed duals on mine and the instructions actually say to rotate it. If you do have to move the sleeve to get it properly secured you can always take it in and have it aligned. Mine was due for an alignment anyway at the time so I wasn't out anything. But I would try to just move the bracket and see if you push it far enough out of the way but still have it secure the sleeve from rotating.

It`s basically just a backup incase the adjusting sleeve bolts come loose (highly unlikely!). personally I would take it off if needed.

The Sky Jacker instructions did not mention anything about this paticular part.

I will have to take a better look and go from there.

Thanks again for the input guys.

I see what you guys are talking about now. From the link below the bracket was rotated up so its out of the way.

So by rotating it upwards, I'm not messing with the alignment correct? I had just my aligment checked and its all in spec.

Wonder why this was not included in the instruction.

Done. Hardest part trying to spread the clamps holding the sleeve so I don't mess up the alignment while rotating the clamps up. Just took a while to find the right spreading tool. Overall good improvement to the steering feel. Might still need to adjust the steering box to make it even better.
