Major leak in evap core! 95 degrees and 90% humidity will surely help motivate the DIY'er! I have worked on other cars before and have all the A/C tools (vacuum/flush/gauges etc).
Ordered the core for $116 online and poked around the engine bay to figure out what the best approach was for this. Things look pretty tight around the bay area to pull it from there. Is the best way to disconnect and pull into passenger compartment?
This job pays 2.6 hrs. labor. 1. Disconnect battery ground, discharge refrigerant. 2. Disconnect pressure switch connector and remove switch from accumulator. 3. Disconnect refrigerant lines from accumulator and evaporator. 4. Remove screws attaching evaporator case servece cover, and vacuum reservoir, if equipped, to evaporator assembly. 5. Remove two dash panel mounting nuts. 6. Remove evaporator case cover from evaporator case assembly. 7.Remove evaporator core and suction accumulator from vehicle. Reverse to install using new o-rings and add oil for new evaporator (3oz), vac and recharge.
That's exactly what I needed to know. Thinks look awfully tight around the evap cover - so it looks like a 2.6 hr pro job could easily turn into a 4-5 DIY job!
