Yes, my orthopedic specialist in Lethbridge said the Calgary specialist will not take on clients that are involved with WCB because he doesn't have time for their BS. Very poor health care system ours has turned into! Specialists will not do anything without an MRI but WBC will deny without one. I had to pay for mine privately or wait 11 months for health system to book me in.
The doctor is not sure what to do with my elbow. I am taking therapy right now which is helping a bit with the pain but they are still stumped on why I am losing movement. And of course Advill and muscle cream when needed.
If I go to Dr. Field I get my CAT scan or MRI in 2 weeks, if I go to Dr. Chandra it's 3 - 4 months, works the same way with my lung function tests. Chandra is by far the better specialist but the name makes the difference, Calgarians have a tendency to screw with anyone who's not from Calgary.
Went shopping for truck seats, found a set on kijiji from a 2000 Explorer. Got stroked big time on these.
Workman's Comp is famous for denying claims. I got tired of fighting with them..
I`m lucky that I`ve never had to find out just how bad they are.

What did your MRI cost?
Nice seats, I love free stuff.
Seats are comfortable to and the sliders work smoothly, now to see if I can keep the carpeting to under $100 and I'll be happy. There was a Pick n pull receipt for $44 for the pair bought Feb 20 /17 so I guess I'm going there for another set from a 2000 Explorer for the other truck or maybe another free set will show up on kijiji.
Hello Morris;
Upper neck and shoulders was $699 at the University in Lethbridge with a week wait. I heard the full is about $1100. With my steel knee they couldn't do a full. Better than waiting 11 months for AHS. Darrell
Good to hear that those seats are comfortable Perry. I have a real nice pair of red seats from a late 80`s, early 90`s Ranger that I`m thinking of using in my 53 M100 resto rod.

It isn`t cheap but at least you don`t have to wait on a long list Darrell. Sk has a plan for paid MRI`s, I`m not sure what they cost.
I think the AHS should pay the private clinics, to shorten their wait times, but the government doesn't want a 2 tier system. They think their 0 tier system is good. But that is like the court system, releasing criminals because of too long wait times for court instead of providing the overpaid manpower to do a proper job. Guess I better stop there!
I'm lucky as I applied for our AISH program back when I had my stroke, took 11 months and 2 appeals but I managed to get on it, am having a hard time staying on it due to my retirement finances. I get a whole $160 a month but most of my medical is covered, only have to pay for my oxygen as my blood saturation point is staying over 60%. The oxygen part is a pita as when it drops to 59% I get dizzy when I stand up or walk to long, under 56% I start blacking out.

As long as we don`t get into a system where we can`t afford the health care we need I totally agree.

Just have to stay active Morris, bit harder to do in the winter as the weather can keep a person housebound. More seniors need to go out on walks every chance they get or the winter will set in and come spring they'll have the spring stroke or heart attack. The boxing set in the back room helps a lot. It's never a hard work out but it's a good cardio and upper body coordination work out. I don't drop many things and my reflexes are still sharper than most peoples.
