Happy Monday mornin'all. I was supposed to have today off due to Friday being a holiday, but one of my co-workers left for Mexico on Saturday, so here I am. I'll take next Monday off instead. Have a great day guy's.
Hope everyone had a great Monday.
Sherm, I saw an ad for built post farm buildings, 32 X 40 was $17,500 plus end doors, taxes, etc., same size of a stick frame building was $16,490 with no concert. I expect there will be additional cost for site prep, over head doors, delivery, travel, etc. but it`s still quite appealing.
I agree about the concrete Gerry, dirt will do since I have other shops for vehicle repairs so this would be mainly for cold storage.
Bummer about your co-worker, shortens your Easter Weekend Grant.
Hey Sherm, even a dirt floor is fine or just leave it there, the grass will die....... ..... its a nice one for sure
For the HiQual a dirt/ground floor is fine. I just need to get some power into it and string a few lights.

That price seems a little high for not including the doors, and possibly holes. Groundwork will never be included in a package price because you never know how much trouble you might run into with it. I'm still undecided as to what I want to do for our daily vehicle storage. On one hand if I put an overhead door in the HiQual it would work quite well, but on the other hand, I would like to build a nice garage with a concrete floor for them. I have a set of trusses that measure 30'6" on the heel, and I believe I have enough to do a building 30'6" x 26' or so. My only decision is whether to do a grade beam + building, or floating slab + building. A pole building wouldn't be my choice these days with the water table being so high, when frost goes down it heaves pole buildings around like crazy.
There is a very large car show down town Saskatoon in August with over 800 vehicles John so you still have a great reason to visit here this summer. Great to hear that the motor mounts are completely welded in, one less thing to mess with.
I agree that such a nice looking truck should have bumpers Gerry but even then I`d be very careful how and when I drove it.
I wouldn't mind one of those fabric buildings but if I'm spending that kind of money, I'll spend a little extra and buy everything I need and volenteer some of my friends to help me build a real shop. Even if it's not as big and cost a little more, I like the security and I'd prefer a real door.
So today I lost to a newer hemi Durango . I didn't put it to the floor in the Explorers defence but I still don't think I would have won. Now if I had my truck, that would have been a different story lol
Hopefully tomorrow I'll be getting a line of credit, and hopefully I'll be picking up my girlfriends engagement ring tomorrow as well .
Thanks for the advice John. The reason why I got the line of credit is because it works almost the same as a credit card (and I have an online debit card for my account) but my interest is about 1/3 of what my current credit card is. Plus it's only $10,000 and I don't plan on increasing the limit.
I just hate seeing someone get into a mess, I know of more than a few who have. I use a credit card to my advantage not the other way round. Just a friendly reminder not meaning to interfere
Yeah I was in a pinch for a bit a few years ago when I first got my credit card but with some raises in pay and with recently paying off my snowmobile, and now with how money concious I am now I got things in much better control. If only I was as money smart as I am now when I first started working, I'd be a whole lot richer. But the advice is much appreciated
