Thanks for the pictures Sherm, a hint on the cost would be since now I want one! It would solve some of my storage problems, since my son moved back from Calgary some of my garages and barn have gotten a lot smaller.
Good Easter Morning boys. Sun is up, frost is melting, looks like a nice day in the making.
Thanks for the building compliments. It is handy, kept all my stuff out of the winter elements. The only nuisance is the roll up door, but I hope to put a solid front wall in it this year with an overhead door and man door. There are other types of door systems available right from the factory. The company has changed names now, it split into 2 companies. One continues with the buildings, the other builds corral panels and other farm stuff. FastCover | High Quality Fabric Buildings There is also an add on Kijiji for them.
Mine was around $8000 I believe, its 24x48. I've built quite a few of them from 24x32 up to 60x120. The 60x120 was for the concrete plant in Melville. They put 16 mixer trucks in it over winter. They poured a 32" grade beam for the building to sit on, and a gravel base. I've done them on concrete slabs, grade beams, gravel base, grass... They pretty much go anywhere.
Mornin' John. I have about 4 more hours on Jordan's car, then it's ready to get safety certified. Jordan also asked if I could give his VW Golf GL the GTI treatment. Wheel flares, new spoiler and paint accents. On top of the numerous repair's to make it pass safety. The FREE car is not so free anymore. It should give him a couple years driving. I'm into it for about $1500.00. That includes snow tires and rims. This also includes the stereo system that Jordan paid for. And you?
I had to build a transmission cross member yesterday, the welder series that Horton's sent me didn't work so well, the motor mounts are in but have to pull the motor to complete the welding, will do that today. I need to order a steering column next I guess and maybe hit you up for those headers. Not sure when I'll be in Winnipeg next but will be talking to you before hand.
Happy Easter mornin'all. Nice to wake up with no new snow.Great pic's of the building, Sherm. We have one of those tent's with an overhread, and man door. Seen some pretty intense weather, and other than some hoodlup slocing a hole in the side to break in, it's been good for over 10 yrs now. Randy. Glad you enjoyed the game. Don't worry abouth the flap's. I got a great deal on a set of Weather tech on Amazon. John. Both set's of header's are yours. Colin. When Kalan was 6-7 yrs old, he had a wack load of Leaf stuff. That's all gone, and Chicago is his favorite. Jet's are 2nd. Gerry. Steer by wire? Go figure. Driver-less cars, aslo coming to a city near you. Have a great day guy's.
Happy Easter Sunday, no new snow here either.
What is the labour to put a building like that up Sherm? Wouldn`t a concrete floor would double the cost of the building?
A bit of a bummer on having to pull the motor again but you making nice progress John.
Another picture from the Draggins Car Show, I think this 302 powered Uni was the winner in it`s class.
For some reason I thought this Draggins show was in August and was looking forward to attend, that is a very nice truck Morris. The motor is back in again now that the motor mounts are completely welded in. It's in to stay for awhile because I have no room for it to sit at the moment. It's a filthy mess and needs to be washed down and painted up. Will be sand blasting the frame hopefully in a couple months.
There is a very large car show down town Saskatoon in August with over 800 vehicles John so you still have a great reason to visit here this summer. Great to hear that the motor mounts are completely welded in, one less thing to mess with.
I agree that such a nice looking truck should have bumpers Gerry but even then I`d be very careful how and when I drove it.
Morning boys. A nice heavy frost on the ground to help dry things up. Its amazing how even without real warm temps this past week, things have been melting and drying.
Even being a younger fellow, I don't think I would be submitting to a EPAS system in a resto-mod. After having issues with it in my 2011 F150 and Explorer, has me thinking that "old school" is the way to keep it. I know manufacturers are going down that road claiming that all these electronic gadgets are helping increase fuel economy by not having so many pulley's for the engine to turn. Instead the alternator is as big as a 5 gallon pail to run all the electronics...
I think we were getting $1.50/sqft to put those buildings up. The smaller ones are pretty simple and quick. No more than 2 days for a couple guys if all is well. The worst part is having the right setup to lift the ribs. I used a 1.5"x5.5"x14' steel tube on my acreage tractor to lift the ribs. Grant, that has been my only concern is that a knife would make short work of the tarp for a thief. All our stuff is insured of course, but the inconvenience would suck.
Gerry I put my building on the sod. I'm not 100% sure thats where I want it, or how long I will wait before putting up a permanent building on concrete. Morris, a concrete base would probably double the cost of the building, but would be nice to have.
