While the Suzuki is an awesome quad, it'll never touch the Polaris for ride quality. I sure like mine, though I wish it were a few hundred lbs lighter. I buried it today and had to get the wife on the tractor to pull me out
Went down to the dealer to check out some bikes for the lady. She really likes a white Sportsman 570. We might pick one up in base form with no power steering. It is a nice amenity, but its an extra 1g on the price of the bike. That gets tires and a winch for her.Hope everyone had a good day!!
Happy spring John!!
Mom and daughter are still at dance and Matthew and I spent most of the day in the city looking for a new bike for him.
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend, my last night shift tonight and then off for 9

Pedal biking is where it all starts Colin
Pretty soon he'll be asking for one with a motor. You won't mind though, as you are a motorcyclist yourself right? I wish SGI hadn't jacked the insurance rates through the roof on bikes. I would love to get back into motor biking, but would have to stay below 500cc's to keep it affordable. I started back into pedal biking last fall, was doing some 50-60km rides on a Saturday morning
Quite enjoyable. Looking forward to the weather warming a bit more so I can get back into it again.Morris, those little Baja bikes are a great way to get kids into motorsports.
Have a great Monday everyone!!

I know what you mean about motorcycle plates, it is just crazy. I've been thinking about buying an old Goldwing or HD and just using antique plates.

My oldest daughter learned to ride with no training wheels last summer. She spoke the words about trying, quickly changed her mind, but I already had the wheels off and there was no turning back. The look on her face was quite a thing. Like a bird in first full flight... "FREEDOM!!!!"
SGI tried to blame motorcycle accidents as the reason for jacking rates. I think they're just following the ways of the world and taking advantage of emotions. Most people who ride, especially the larger bikes, whether it be sport, touring, adventure, or whatever, are very passionate about it. To say that most motorcycle collisions and accidents are caused by the biker is complete BS in my mind. In my experience it has been the inattentive auto driving individual who has caused or nearly caused the accident. I had only one very close call, and it was due to a young girl doing a completely illegal lane change and turning unto a side street without signalling or shoulder checking. I suspect that I may have been in her blind spot, but that's irrelevant. At any given time you could be in someone's blind spot. Had she signalled and looked she may have seen me, I would have seen the signal, had time to brake properly instead of skidding $150 off my back tire. So when asked what I think of the rate increase? I think its just another opportunity to "rape" the little people.
Good idea with the antique plates, Colin. Never thought of that, but now might have to look into something like it. I'd love to find an old Triumph boyracer style of bike. An old HD would be cool, basically register the frame as antique but build a nice S&S 113" with a Baker 6 speed tranny...you'd have a very fun bike with cheap plates
If I see an old Wing I'll bring it to your attention!!Have a great day out there guys!!!
