I have the engine at work. I haven't started on it yet. My son has to work a couple nites this week, so I'll hang around after work and fiddle with it.
I'll likely clean up the motor/trans I have and give it a rattle can tune up but won't be able to install it until I get the front cross member and trans cross member. Not that sure how much I'll get done over the winter on this new project but do have a few things to do on the panel to keep me busy.

I`m stroked! Finally got my old buzz saw to run, a 24'' saw blade on frame with wheels powered by an 8 hp Briggs and Scrap Iron engine that hasn`t run for many yrs. It only took about 20 minutes to cut up enough firewood to fill my F150 for a friend that uses it in his fire place.

Well at least they are on the right track, hopefully next week brings a win.

Have a good monday everyone!!
I`m lovin` this weather, hopefully it sticks around for a while now. I heard that 2 yrs ago we were shoveling snow.
Man, yesterday was a beaut, today promises the same... Keep it coming, keep it coming... Got my piles filled yesterday morning, then in the evening got most of the forming done for the grade beam. Those ICF blocks sure make concrete work less labor intensive. Just have to brace them and put in some void form and we're ready for pour #2 on the addition. Momma's happy, I'm happy.

What`s the cost of a ICF basement compared to concrete Sherm?

Great day, put another 350kms on the panel, discovered that the engine doesn't want to run at operating temperature though on the highway.
temp didn't get over 70*C until I started driving around town.
Funny Grant and here I thought all along it was Frances, lol. As it is right now this thing wouldn't be very comfortable in cooler weather, I'd like to get it solved.
Morning fellas, its another beauty out there for now. Yesterday was one of the nicest days of the year in my opinion. The temp was right, windage was right, could have used a few more daylight hours but we survived...

I've always found basements to be broken into 3rds. PWF (wood) is the cheapest, then standard form pour concrete is roughly twice the cost of PWF, ICF is three times the price of PWF. Basically the cost of the blocks are the only thing making the ICF basements more money than standard form pour. I've done a few basements and grade beams with ICF. If you're smart, they're a license to print money.
I'm just doing a 2' grade beam on piles here, so a short crawl space under the addition.

Thanks Gerry. I'm hoping that the hardest part of the project was drilling the holes and getting around the rocks...
