Morning boys and girl(s) if they stop in and are feeling sensitive about being left out... Looks like a nice one today then 3 days of rain for the weekend.
The Ford tractor is in real nice condition, guy says it runs like a swiss watch and would fire it up for me if I so desired. There's a farm auction close to our place tomorrow, I'm going to try and attend. Lots of old iron there, some junk of course and some that looks respectable. I'm going in hopes of getting a mower and maybe an antique tractor or two if the prices are right.
I get all the way to Vehicle Inspection place and damn ABS light came back on. So back to shop. Those generic programmers like Edge wreck your computer system if you have larger wheels/tires. Another flash in order.
Does the Inspection people put a code reader on the truck or just look for idiot lights on the dash? At this point I'd be tempted to cut the light, pass the inspection, then deal with the problem if there is one other than a computer malfunction.
Can't cut the light as light must come on then turn off. They don't use a code reader, not their job. The codes I'm getting has to do with larger gear & tires. This causes the ABS to turn on with an aftermarket genaric programmer like the Edge I have. Computer has to flashed again.
I had an awesome day yesterday, the 86 got new front tires and lots of complements at the tire shop which made my day.

Morris, are you happy with your 8n and 3pth mower? There is one for sale not far from me. The engine has been completely rebuilt with all new internals, 72" mower included for 4g. My FIL thinks its not worth it, the mower is a side discharge Land Pride model, and says the non-live PTO will drive me nuts since using the JD with the live PTO... Tractor is an 8NE...
My tractor is an 800 Sherm, slightly newer (1957) and bigger version of an 8N, 48 hp with a semi live PTO with a two stage clutch, I can stop the tractor with the PTO running until I step further down on the clutch. It`s almost as compact as the 8N`s, still turns on a dime.

The mower is almost worth as much as the tractor but I prefer a rear discharge rather than a side discharge as I think it takes a bit less power, especially in tall grass.

I`ll be in Alberta this weekend for my grand daughter`s grad and hopefully no rain there.
Good luck at the auction, hope you find something good and cheap. Yesterday the generator bearing seized up on my Ford tractor so now I`m on the hunt for a bearing.
Evening everyone. No more shift work for me till August . Still working this weekend but I'm just painting our shop, nothing wrong with getting double time to paint :P. I need to find a way to make more money, lots of things I need (want) to buy
