T-Bar - I'm not sure if that's the official nomenclature, but that's what I have always called it. There is a grid pattern (24" x 36") of metal pieces suspended from the ceiling.
Ah, gotcha. I usually hear it called suspended ceiling, but I can see why you would call it T-bar.

Okay, I'll see what we can do. I enjoy looking them up, so I can always call it self gratification ... oh, wait...

When I searched "suspended ceiling", it took me to the "drop ceiling" page. So drop ceiling seems to be prefered, but either is an acceptable arch term.
shure why not....i know you all are doing your part to please me....i dont know why but hey works for me...i have also heard them call pannel lighting...because they have that same type of "t-bar" for celings with no lights in them, so to me a drop celing would not have lights (could but w/o the light in the name who knows), but that is just me and i am a young wipper snaper so what do i know anyways....and us "Cali guys" always make up new names for stuff, i mean we even have our own type of stop when driving...
the type of lighting i was thinking of has the lights behind the drop ceiling and it has clear panels to let the light through....cuz wiki has pics where the lights are on the bottom of the drop....

The high idle mod is kind of cool. I don't have the upfitters but if I did I would do it. It's not worth it to me to put in my own switch.
For you guys not familiar with the diesel, after a cold start the 6.0 PCM will kick the idle up a little bit after about 2 minutes. How high it goes depends on the ambient temperature, and in my experience altitude plays a part too, although I have not seen documentation on that. As long as you don't touch any PCM monitored controls in the truck, like the brake, it will idle high. The idea is that it's bad for our motors to idle for long periods because of something called "wet stacking". I don't know if the 7.3 does the idle up or not. For example, this morning I started my truck and it was already 67 degrees outside. I idled for the 2 minutes and then it increased the idle, but it was barely noticeable, maybe 100-200 RPM. On a cold morning in the mountains it will go up over 1,100 RPM.
The so called high idle mod just lets you kick that in with a switch. A good thing when you run in to get a cup of coffee in the morning and leave the truck running. You don't have to have the PTO option to do it. All 6.0's have the wire under the dash.
sounds right to me....they are also used for acc. i have my light bar on my truck on accident scenes with my lights on ..turn on high idle keep batts charged ac colder no wet stacking!!
Okay, I was wondering about that. I usually don't have a reason to idle mine, even when it's cold, I usually start it, let it sit for about 20 seconds, then go. Takes too long at idle for it to warm up, especially for "Nebraska" cold!!LOL
Sorry about actually discussing Ford Trucks here, but...
A question for you guys with the 6.0 - have you noticed altitude playing a part in the time your glow plug lamp stays lit? I definitely have. When I'm in the Sierra's, usually around 7-8000 feet elevation, it doesn't matter how hot my truck is, or how high the ambient temp, my glow plugs stay on longer than I would expect. I think the high idle is affected too like I mentioned above, but I'm not as sure on that.
