Still have all my fingers!

Quiet day today, not doing much - and probably won't start 'til later.

Hey Griff, unknown user named Delux, Steve and whoever else is hanging.

Had a pretty quiet fourth here. Then this morning a garage fire about 3 streets over straight behind us got the neighborhood moving. I heard the sirens but didn't come out of the shop until I saw ash falling on the driveway.

Looks like their garage is a total loss, but it didn't spread to their house. The FD hit it pretty hard and fast. Not much else to report.

Bill

No fireworks permitted in Whittier, are they Bill?

It seems I remember a move recently to repeal their prohibition that was defeated.

No, they are not permitted. But you can't tell if you drive around here. Scofflaws!

I couldn't wait to blow them off when I was a kid - but I don't get much of a thrill out of them any more. Is there still a show at York Field?

still have the safe-sane fireworks here in fillmore. fire dept and sheriff started cracking down on the illegal fireworks 2 years ago. $ 1000.00 fine if caught.
we sit up on a hill overlooking the town. look like shock and awe 3 years ago. this year about 9:30 pm the fire dept came over the scanner a reporter had and told his crew to head back to the station it was out of hand. surd did look pretty from top of the hill.

Morning Mr. Randy.

What it means is pretty clear. $1,000 fine.

That's what I meant. It's ignored by the masses, so there is safety in the masses. The cops and FD can't get around to more than a few citations. It's like the Lions on the African plain. They take down the weak, and the stupid. The stupid are especially tasty.

.. but hey i launched em over the lake lol
So, you'll get a fireworks citation and a fish and game citation. The cops will love you.

I don't have much use for fireworks personally any more. But it's a sad thing that the tradition is being killed by do-gooders. That's saddening, but it's heartening to see so many people still willing to celebrate the birth of our nation, with fireworks, laws contrary be damned. Our own little tea party.

hey every one! long weekend almost killed me. i am as red as a tomato, but had a blast.

as far as skeet shooting i can hold my own, not great but i can hit them, never been to a range before only out in the wild where its legal...

had a good 4th, there were 2 different shows we could see from our camp site, and the illegals too. I always went to Downy where my grandparents lived to do fireworks every year, it was a blast.
