Ford fuel additive

I've heard somewhere before, but can't remember right now. Why are you asking? I can say that I've been running it for the last few thousand miles and my truck runs great and I've been getting good fuel mileage. I was running Stanadyne before, but the Motorcraft supplement is cheaper and there wasn't any drop off in performance so I would recommend it.

Thanks for the reply. I wanted to hear others experance with the Ford additive. I was wondering if it had any advantage over PS or Stanadyne.
I use Power Service now it seems to be OK. I use it more for lubrication and to keep my EGR operational. The Ford techs have told me that the best things to do to keep it working properly was to: 1. do not idle, 2. use an additive to increase the cetane, and 3. work your truck hard. (higher cetane rating should inprove mpg also.)
I thought that maybe the Ford additive was made by Powerservice or Stanadyne. It is more expensive than PS.
The Ford additive is $7 to $8 for 16 oz. while Power Service is about $13 for 96 oz.

I've heard that they just relabel the Stanadyne, but I honestly don't know if that's fully accurate. I do know that Stanadyne does have Fords approval, as well as International, Navistar, et al. I've used it in my 7.3L for years now and have never had a single injector failure. Can't say it was the Stanadyne that's responsable for that. I do know that it does help with fuel economy. I gain .63 MPG when I use it. At today's fuel prices it wouldn't make sence for me not to. The break even point is 2.60/gal of diesel fuel. So if fuel costs me more than 2.60, I'm saving money.
We stock it in single One Shot 8oz bottles, 16oz bottles, and 1/2 gallon jugs too.

I use it mainly because I can get it a little cheaper.
I've used it for 25k+ miles and not a single fuel related issue. I do, however, change my filters on time, every time.
The biggest problem I have is occasionaly, after backing the frame mounted filter cap out, it distorts the plastic threads and it don't want to go back on. So, I've just purchased a couple extra caps for those "d'oh" moments and I'm not dead in the water because of a filter cap.
Cheers.

Dealership I bought mine at HIGHLY recommended either Motorcraft or Stanadyne. I have never used Power Service. I have changed to a FULL synthetic engine oil for diesels after 25,000 mile break-in. I use Valvoline premium blue EXTREME. If it isn't extreme, it isn't full synthetic. Dealer said if I could afford it the Synthetic would be the best. So ever 10,000 miles or so I rob a bank and buy some oil!
