Not sure how much space you will have in the back of the extended cab. Behind the seat of my 2000 CC I had enough room for a box holding 4 10"s with .6 cubic ft of air space per chamber. Make sure that what ever sub you buy will be able to run in the box you have made. The first 10"s I put in my truck were Cerwin Vegas. They did not sound good due to the low air space I had. I swapped them out for some premiers. Huge difference.
I think that a pair of 12's will sound better than three 10's. They will get much deeper. Are you going to be putting them on the seat?? My dad has a 2000 F-250 (its an XL and the rear seat doesn't fold down...not sure if the XLT seat does)... Anyhow... The three tens MIGHT get louder, but I'd mob a pair of 12's I recommend Alpine's (Type S or R both good), Infinity Kappas, and Cerwin Vega HED's are good subs for only about 100 bucks. Good luck

I agree with AKFORD. I know that 12"s would sound better in my truck. The problem I ran into was that I just didn't have the mounting depth to put 12's behind my seat. I know this sounds like common sense, but just make sure that whatever you are going to do, is going to fit in your truck. More than once I have purchased something I thought would fit, and it didn't. So then comes the modifications to make it fit. Then you end up with rattles and less than perfect sound.
>what do yall suggest for putting 3 10" subs in the back of
>an extended cab f350?
if you need 3 go for it. my suggestion is to look into a rear seat lift kit. i put one in my 88 so i had room for my amps, crossovers and sub box without hindering the function of the seat or passenger room. i got mine at Calmar industries.
